Heated Tailgate
Heated Tailgate
Just in time for Christmas.. I heard that Ford will introduce a heated tailgate on all their new trucks... apparently it's in response to complaints from current owners who experience "cold hands" while pushing their trucks home. On another note I saw on Tv the other night a mechanic had invented heated windshield washer fluid using the engine coolant to do the heating unlike GM who tried to heat theirs electrically which caused some fires. This guy just ran a copper tube down inside the reservoir with a temp control valve to avoid overheating the fluid. I thought about giving this a shot but by the time the Cummins warms up you are usually at destination.
OOOOOLLLLLLDDDDDDD (but still funny!

So sad... but true...
Doesn't seem to be much of a problem on the 1st gen as the washer reservoir is next to the turbo.
For the Jeep, I keep a spray bottle in front of the heater vent for such occasions.
Still need something to clean my head lights.

On the Volvo semi I'm driving the washer tank is mounted on top of the radiator, next to the over flow tank. It doesn't freeze but it only holds a little over a quart, pretty useless.

The moment after I posted this thread I knew it was in the wrong place
