I was laid off for a month in Dec when the place I worked at for the last 9yrs sold and the new owners did not think I fit any more. Got hired in Jan at the current employer and got laid off and was told I have a week too move 300 miles away or sorry. Now things have caught up too me up here we just had a meeting that we cannot afford too loose any more customers PERIOD so for how much longer I will have a job is un known. They took my hourly pay away from me and made me commission and I lost about 500 bucks a week in pay and I am going more back wards than forwards and barley able too keep up on the bills. I could be sitting at home feeding cows making unemployment and going too school so my future does not look too good

Hey Dodgecowboy, Sorry I didn't have more time to say hi the other day.

I'm pretty burned out at work and have been browsing classifieds a bit.

There are some windmill jobs that pay well, but I don't think that's a job a person could stay in until retirement- being able to climb 300' ladder several times a day.

That unmanned aircraft place over by Bingen has a bunch of positions listed, mostly for engineers, but a few for normal people.

There was also a listing with the army corps of engineers for grounds/building upkeep kind of thing.

There's really not a whole lot out there that has medical insurance and a wage a person could actually live on...

Sorry the hear that.

I am still glad to have my crappy job. I have been looking on all the job sites and applied for many jobs, but I have not even gotten an interview or any other type of response yet.

Well its finally too the point were I cannot afford too pay my bills and put food on my table my paychecks have more than over half of what it was a year ago so its time too start the process of looking hoping an praying. Just when I find a job I like I cannot afford too work there and no go bankrupt. I think for the summer I am going too hire out on a big out fit ranch and cowboy all summer and see were I am at the end of the summer.

I still have a job for now but just yesterday was informed that I will be taking yet another large paycut in order for the company to try and stay afloat. I also have zero benefits anymore. I am making almost half of what I made a year ago. I will be getting to know my mortgage company very well in the coming months as I expect lots of calls from them asking where that payment is.......

Tough times indeed..

Ya DZ I am with you I am pulling the plug up here before I go broke and stuck and haul my stuff home. I figured it out today I have lost over 450 a week on my paychecks. I hear wind too that our saw mill is shutting down and its one of my largest customers so I will prob loose another 80 bucks off the top being commission.
