I'm in and out of this club. Had a 6 hour job about a week and a half ago for 275, another 6-7 hours tuesday, 250, and started work on a job today that is suspected to last 7-10 days. When it's over back to chasing work. Unfortunately my chase radius is getting bigger. Actually caught myself checking out jobs in Arizona, N Mexico, Texas and more. I email, they don't ever reply back, why is that?

So, today, not a member, I'll get back with you in about 10 days.

This is the most sobering post I have read on this site. I'll pray for everbody out of work.

Rebal, it is evident you are a good family man and trying to care for your family. Your concern for your wife's feelings in a time of your own uncertainty speaks volumes about your character. It will work out in the end, your head is in the right place.

Got notified a week ago the plant is closing in Aug or Sep. I get laid off in June. 165 people out of work. 1500 in this area already out of a job, so they have a jump on what there is out there. Can I sign up now to get in on the donuts ? Gonna be gettin hungry around here soon !!

Can't work or ride broncs still due to my 3rd degree burns on the leg and the whole exposed achilis tendon thing, makes finding work that much harder. Girlfriend got let go 3 weeks ago or should I say ex now guess the stresses of dealing with my gimped up self on top of having to look for a new job finally got to her....sure is tough times out there, on a good note for me the docs have cleared me to drive again so I got that to look forward to

I've been off for the last 5 weeks, but I'll be back at it in a couple more weeks. Thats just the nature of the trade for me. I feel for those who have been steady-eddie's for the last few years that are out in the cold now.

lay offs suck

i've been laid off since mid-june 2008. since then, i had a 5 week shut down and worked it. i install, service and inspect fire sprinkler systems. been doing it 11 years. all my savings are gone and now getting by on tax refund and my unemployment extension. i have 2 meetings this week, looking at going back to school to get in medical field. it will feel strange wearing scrubs instead of a hard hat!! but thats ok; i always was afraid of hights, but did it for the money. at last report, over 1/2 of all the sprinklerfitters laid off nationwide are in oh, mi, in and pa. even las vegas has dried up! that is where we usually go when things get slow around home. you know things are bad when sin city is slow!!!

Pray Pray Pray for me and my family.
With everything else going on I just found out my Grandmother just passed away. Not that it would make it any better but if I had a job I might fell a little better about the future.

Thanks
