Have you ever slept in the back seat of the Mega Cab?

I'm going on a trip by myself and am thinking about crashing in the back seat for a night. I laid down with the rear seat in it's normal position but wondered what it would be like if I folded both sides of the seats down. There seems to be more room this way (obviously) I just wanted to know if anyone has slept this way and what padding did you use to cover the entire rear section.

I figured several blankets underneath and maybe some egg crate but wasn't sure if someone had a better idea.

Thanks.

I have slept in the front seat of a truck. I cant see the back seat of a mega cab being much worse.. Atleast there is no horn to roll over and hit and scare the dog snot out of you...

I made a mattress for the back area of my MegaCab. I believe the width is right at 48"s, same as a single bed. The length - door to door - was somewhere around either 62"s or 64"s. I went to Wally World and picked up 4 of those 1" thick egg crate mattess pads, cut about 10"s off the length, stuffed them into a Futon mattress cover (got that at WW too). It actually can be folded in half and stored behind the back seat when not in use, out of sight or just stood up against the back wall. If you are tall, you will have to sleep cross-wise a little, but it does make a nice comfortable bed.

It worked real good, served the purpose without getting too involved. It did not really cost that much to put together. Usually when I go somewhere towing a long distance I just throw it in and it's really nice NOT to have to do the motel thing and worry about someone messing with your truck or your trailer.

Hope that helps.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. I'm 6'3 so I figured I would have to angle some while sleeping but wasn't sure on the best way to do it. This makes sense.

Thanks a lot for posting.

I bought a 4" foam bunk bed mattress (about 39" wide),cut the stitches on the bottom edge then cut 12" off of foam and the wife sewed it back up.it's narrow enough that i can flip up the seats and leave it behind them.

you can't sleep with the seats up - they are thinner than they seem, and the seat belt buckles will STAB you incessantly. believe me.
