Haulmark Trailer Help

For those of you who have Haulmark trailers, the screws that hold the panels on are 8 point torx screws. But nobody has 8 point torx bits. What tool can you use to take out the screws? One guy suggested using clutch bits but I havent got any, and I dont want to go out andy buy some if it wont work. If anyone has run into this problem then you'll know what a pain it is not being able to find the right tool to remove the screws.

.......You're going to feel as stupid as I did..........you need a SQUARE bit for those screws. I'm soooooo glad I'm not the only one that has gone through this!!!!.......but they do look like a torx .

well, that only works for the ones that are not really tight, otherwise it will strip them out.

The fastners are about the same quality as the rest of the trailer, but they are square drive. My #2 SQ bit did the job. You find a 8 point socket that fits those things let me know. Snap On and Mac both told me "no".

I dont have a Haulmark, my trailer is all steel except for the wood floor.

But in the future am allen (hex) driver will also work on Torx... I have done it more than once in a pinch, and if you find the right side it works great.

The bits shown in your link are six point, these fastners on the Haulmark trailer have the appearance of being an eight point torx, but as I stated above a #2 square bit fits nicely allthough it seems an 8 point bit would do the job better. I tried to take a pict of one, but I can't get a quality close up picture.
