If you post the model number we can find out pretty quickly...
You should have an option in the BIOS, usually around the SATA Enabled feature you saw. Most the time called "Sata mode", either providing options for RAID, ACHI, Combination or IDE.. sometimes says "Configure sata as" also.
If you dont see anything like this anywhere chances are theres no raid.. Havent see many a compaq's with raid since they are considered low end (hp's value brand).
