Dealer decided to start with a new clutch to try and find out why Ghost shudders when towing. I would shudder too trying to pull that big thing. They will check carrier bearing and alignment on drive shaft while at it. Also, checking rear suspension to make sure all is tight and nothing obvious showing up. Hopefully they will isolate the problem.

Well, the Ghost came through the operation OK. Doctor said everything looked good in the driveline - - could not detect any problems that might cause the shuddering. Sooooo, he is hoping the clutch does the job. We will know when we hook up and hit first gear. The new clutch seems to hit a little harder - - not quite as smooth. But, that may be a good thing - - just have to learn how to drive it all over again and not jerk the CFO's neck out of joint. Not nice to have the CFO with a stiff neck. > ;D

Thanks, Stan. We don't know if things worked out until that big box gets on the back and makes the Ghost grunt a little. Sure hope a simple thing like a clutch took care of it. It seemed the rattle at low rpm might have been less - - really did not listen close for that - - concentrating on the clutch. Besides, it was dreadful hot here today and the AC was up all the way for the short ride home so I could not hear a rattle all that well.

 

Glad to hear the patient will recover FiverBob. 8)

And as for our "Penguin Pimpin" buddy from the Great White North,..... it's nothin' a few flips of a tractor tire and a Philly Cheese Steak can't cure.
