Totally believable. Whether it is true or not I don't know. In this day of drooling lawyers over accident scenes if they removed the patient and he was paralyzed then the lawsuit and settlement would be much more than the price of a new car. What you gonna say to the fire dept "no don't cut my car up possibly paralyze the guy instead?"

Wait, I don't get that. How is that believable? As far as I can tell, the guy pulled over to the scene of a fresh accident and put the conscious victim in the back seat of his car. And then he left, or something, because the fire department gets there and tears off his roof and doors to get to the guy in the back seat with a hurt back.
What? Did they have to get a stretcher down next to him and roll him onto it? I fail to see how the heck that story is probable. The idea that the car was donated for training is far more likely, since all 4 doors are removed and the like. But wouldn't cars donated for training probably be old, smashed and cheap ones?

I knew a guy who one time fell into a few Ford exploerers that were brand new gutted and cut in half,no titles and they came from ford and were to be destroyed. He used one for a cab change over wreck. That car is taken apart to carfully for Fire Dept emergency work.
Well I'm gonna have to say "Cow Pies!"
There's too many means of immobilizing a patient without having to chop up that car according to the story.
A C-collar and sliding a long-board under the patients butt, rotating, then lying him down should work. If not, a C-collar and KED followed by the long-board would have definitely worked.
. . . . sniff, . .. sniff, . . . . I believe somebody's pooted!
