Mines only a 2 inch drop, but it stays in. In texas its your fault if you hit a car from behind, no ifs ands or buts, only exception is if cars left unattended in a traffic lane.

Wink Absolutely Mak esure your body still squeaks and groans the way it used to.....

All good sound advice, especially from DTR BIG DADDY Ed (shovelhead)

Don't know where abouts you are, but have their insurance company talk with your insurance company. Unless you have your own attorney, please do not sign anything without a cursory look by your agent. Remember, it is a service you pay for and the protection is worth it. (above IMHO- I know, I know- I didn't bring the beer why should ya listen..... )

YES! except if you have ever knocked off your shins- keep the hitches in.
It, legally, is accepted as an inherant part of the vehicle. The insurance industry lobbyists made available that argument that hitches on trucks are causing more damage. Indifferent that the current models of cars and trucks are about two feet apart heightwise... The Law says who is responsible? Does NOT mean that 'obvious' and common sense' have the same meaning in my sandbox now (How about Hot Coffee Stella and McDonald's 62 million dollar law suit?)
It is the insurance company that may argue how much responsibilty YOU bear by having a hitch. Culpability is interpretive......

IRRESPONSIBLE GIRLS ON CELL PHONES should be outlawed...

REDLEG, if the girl called to apologize- she probably WOULD NOT have been in the accident, but we can still hope that responsible teens exist out there. I think there is one here in town still...... (sarcasm)
