Good gun site
I am looking for a good gun site that is similar to this one. Anybody got one for me? My Homebrew site is a near replica of this one and I like the fact that I am already familiar with the look and icons and stuff.
Secondly, I am trying to find out if the Ruger M77 MII rifle is freefloated or fixed to the stock. I have one I am accurizing and I noticed the barrel is touching the stock thru the entire forend. I tried the dollar bill trick and can't even get it started.
Thanks, Kurt

The barrell is to be free floating, you should be able to slide a dollar bill down the barrell. I had this problem with my Ruger, You have to take the bolts out from the trigger and drop plate sections, then put lock tight(spelling?) on the bolts and tighten down the rear bolt for the trigger housing first, the the next bolt to the trigger housing, the last bolt is the mag drop plate bolt. If you tighten to tight you will STRIP the bolts so do not over tighten. If you still can't get the dollar bill down back off (in small incarments) the mag drop plate bolt. P.S. I did this a couple yearsago so I think there is three botls could only be two.

www.ar15.com
Mostly about, you guessed it, ar15s but there are a lot of knowledgeable people on that site. The General Board is a bit crazy and unregulated but the tech forums are very good.

The tech forums are pretty good as long as you get a response. I think most people hang out in the GD, the down side is you have to sort through the chaff to get decent info.

Thanks for all the info. I haven't torn into this thing yet but was fiddling with it the other day and noticed how tight the barrel is to the stock. I've got a nice Burris 4-14.5X for it and am getting ready for MT this fall. Its time to get her tuned up a bit.
Thanks again, Kurt

www.shootingworld.com is decent, but a bit slow.
www.shotgunworld.com is busier, but more shotgun related.
www.sniperhide.com seems ok. lots of good information and not overly militant.
www.ar15.com is just insane on the number of members and about 1% of them are useful.
