Good bye Jerry

Jerrry Rice finaly retires. Its about time, and this coming from a long time Forty Niner fan. Good for him. Personally I think he should of called it quits before he decided to play for the Sea Chickens. just my 0.02

Yeah, I think he was kind of in denial after he left the Raiders. And he wasn't near what he had been there.

Jerry sure has given me some GREAT memories As a die hard Niners fan, I will always appreciate what he did for my city by the bay

We all grow older, no getting away from the fact, but Jerry Rice not only set the height on the bar of Excellence, he Created it!

I would not care if he would play for five more years. I'm not one that believes if you play too long it will take away from what you have done.

Thumbs up

I wouldnt care if the guy played for five more years either, so long as he wasnt playing 3rd or 4th string, which is exactly the option they gave him. Rice is, and always will be one of the best players in the NFL as far as I'm concerned. I love Montana too, but without Rice by his side for those years, whatever, I'm glad the guy stepped out as a champ. I'm glad he opted not to be that great football player from back in the day, who now only gets to play a few minutes at the end of each game. Good for him, I'm certain hes got a lot of options and we'll be seeing him around quite a bit.

Jerry was always a class act - too bad alot more professional athletes aren't like him. Always liked to watch him play and make the DBs look foolish - especially the ones who were crowing that they could shut him down. Hopefully his heir-apparent isn't Randy Moss or Keyshawn Johnson or the like............
