Hope you come up with something.

I offer no help but would like to commend Jarhead for the offer. That is a great gesture towards another human being. Thanks for your service to our country, from a flyboy veteran.

Get on one of those sites that you name your own price. If you bid around 1/3 of the price you'll usually get the ticket.
I flew space A a lot when stationed in Germany, never got bumped maybe I was lucky. It might be different with the holidays, probably not worth the risk. Plus you can eat up some leave time trying to get out.

The space a game is a risky one now with all the deployments and such. Its realy hard to get flights outa germany right now. But if she checks the stars and stripes she can probly get a flight for about 800 or so through the travel agents in the paper.

$919 doesn't sound to terrible. Hope you can get cheaper though. My son was looking at $550 from Atlanta to St. Louis for Christmas Exodus from Ft. Gordon. He decided to ride the Old Grey Dog instead. Could she take the bus . I know Germany to Alabama, just kidding.

I have been looking at SATO's website .... but I think a person could do just as well if not better either by calling them or finding something through one of the other bargain hunting deals. I priced a r/t for later this month or early Dec and it ran between 445 - 500 euro.
Space-A seems to be ok for a lot of the guys I work with ... you just gotta consider what everyone else is doing ... traveling to the states for the holidays. Now, if you were coming over here for the holidays, you probably wouldn't have a problem.
Glad you found a ticket ... enjoy your trip !!!
