Free cell phone.

Just received this from a friend in Commifornia. Is this really true?

This is unbelievable !!

Just when you think you've heard it all, our illustrious Congress quietly comes up with a new zinger to put their hands in your pockets, and pick them while you aren't watching. Isn't this just wonderful!

I was standing in line at the checkout counter at Wal Mart and as I looked at the line behind me, I saw a couple of people
talking about what looked like identical new cell phones, bragging about the fact that their phones were free and so was the airtime.

The woman in line behind me had heard the same exchange and turned to the young man behind her and asked, "Is that a new type of cell phone?" The young man replied, "Yes, this is my new "Obama phone'". She asked him what an "Obama phone" was, and he went on to say that, Welfare recipients are now eligible to receive what he described as (1) a FREE new cell phone, and (2) approximately 70 FREE minutes of air time every month.

Needless to say, I was a little skeptical about his answer, so when I got back home, I Googled it, and lo and behold, he was
telling the truth. This was what I discovered:

SafeLink Wireless is a government supported program that provides a free cell phone and airtime each month for income-
eligible customers. In other words, your tax dollars are being distributed to a wireless phone provider to provide welfare
recipients with free cell phones and airtime. I don't know about you, but as for me, enough is enough. We are $14 Trillion in debt, Congress is balking at continuing unemployment payments to those who want to work, and Congress is increasing the dole-out to dead beats.

The ship of State is sinking, and it's sinking fast. The old concept of getting ahead through hard work has flown out the
window. It has been replaced by Obama's and Congress' idea of Hope and Change.

The country has changed all right, changed to "Why should I work for it, when I can get it for free?"

You can click on the link below to confirm for yourself that the it is real.

...and YOU get to pay for it!!!!!! Isn't America great?!! Or what!

In some ways, no, this does not surprise me. On the other hand, yes it does as I would have thought that there a spark of intelligence with the dumbos that made this happen. Makes me wonder whose pockets are getting lined at your (the taxpayers) expense.

mostly ATT and Verizon since they own the majority of the towers.
it makes some people happy so that gets votes.
The best way to get ahead is to get out of the country and stay out of the country.

For the ones on the nipple, Oklahoma has done away with sending out checks and food stamp books, its all done on a credit card now. They just swipe it and the tax on food is removed and paid for out of the food stamp account and the rest is out of another account.

I can understand a free landline...basic emergency calling only. They could do the same with a cell phone...

I have no problem giving people the equipment to make emergency calls to 911, fire, EMS, etc....but 70 minutes a month will make lots of calls to hookup for a little pick me up!!

I love our country and I fight for her way of life. But the curent direction of our beloved nation is being run by those who find a way to make the lazy comfortable and give them hand outs, The ritch keep getting richer by controling oil and alternitive fuels and greasing the politicians pocket to put a tax on the ones willing to make biofuel. All while making it harder for the hard working, honist, 9 to 5, farmer, rancher, military man and women pay for all of it.

I feel bad that when I returned from my tour in Japan the next day I walked in to the local Wallmart and saw how we as Americans treat each other and how our politicians run our country........ I wanted to return back to Japan. I feel horible for feeling that way but the way of the good hard working man and women is starting to fade away.

Thanks to all the members of DTR and this forum for being the men and wemen that make this country worth coming back to.

Thank you and God Bless America.

talking very general here, but Asians are some of the most polite people I have ever met. Next in line would be the socialist country of Norway. While they have an insane tax rate and prices, the majority of their tax base comes from the oil industry.
The worse place I have seen is probably the UK. They are as bad as we are, but with accents.

I've delivered many 36"x36" boxes of free cell phones to a local business who gives them out. They told me that next month they're changing over to Blackberries and they will have internet.

I was also told from a recipient that the phone she got still had the previous owners contacts so be sure and delete your info before you donate it or send it back to the company.

You'd be surprised what is given away at my...and your expense.
