Found a Stolen FERD today...

Hey guess what! I was hiking around the weeds here today and found a brand spankin new Furd F350 Crewcab diesel shortbox hidden in the bush. Thought it was kinda strange that someone took so much care to hide it like that and then leave it unlocked... So I called the town's finest and they ran the VIN number and told me not to touch it they'd be there ASAP. So when he finally showed up he told me it was indeed stolen and tried to start it, and of course the ignition had been tampered with and she cranked over... I coulda had myself a new truck today, but I'd rather have a Dodge with a Cummins...

Ya, you could have had a new truck today, probably about 10 years to think about it, and ten years to try to rebuild your reputation. You did the right thing.
Tom

Of course I was only kidding about the coulda had a new truck today part... Last thing I need is a boyfriend, let alone a few years in jail. Besides, I've got no criminal history and I'd like to keep it that way.

I can tell you there is one happy truck owner out there. There is nothing worse than sitting on your hands waiting for word on your missing truck. Will it be smashed? will I take a big hit on insurance? There is one thing that having my truck stolen twice has taught me... take pictures of everything you have installed/modified on your truck and have records of everything. >

Re:Found a Stolen FERD today...

Actually, the first time it was taken in Burnaby, underground unsecure apartment parking. They stole the winch off the front and some stuff from inside. I parked the truck, opened the parkade door to go upstairs, changed my mind, walked across the parkade and was just opening the other door when I thought I heard a window being broken... Naaa! I thought...
Insurance said there was a winch on the front, so you get a 2000Lb winch. This is where the take pictures part comes in.
A year later they stole it from New Westminister. Winch, winch bumper and stuff from inside. Fortunatly it wasn't trashed.
The most damage was caused by the yard jockeys at the dealership. >
