Floor Jack and Jack Stands
Floor Jack and Jack Stands
Well, after putting the new tires on my truck, I found that the little baby bottle jack doesn't quite measure up to the job anymore.
Headed out to Sears and got me a pair of 6 ton jack stands, figured more is always better than less. ;D
3 ton floor jack with a 21 inch reach was out of stock.
They had a couple of combo kits with the jack and the stands, but wanted to make sure the jack would reach anywhere I would want to lift it from, and they seemed to be a little short.
And most of the stands were only 2 ton, and a little short as well.
3 1/2 ton jack was just too big, and quite heavy, didn't want to be lugging that beast everywhere, and only had a 20inch reach,
so I ordered me the 3 ton, should be here in a month ??? .
That will allow me to change tires in the driveway no problem.
Planning on getting the tallest High Lift jack they make (60"?) after my new front bumper is installed, and that should do for when I'm out and about.
Stock front bumper doesn't work well with the high lift, too darn much plastic, no where to lift from.
As for now, just hoping and praying I don't get a flat anywhere but home.
Still don't have the right size spare either, gotta figure out how to mount that in the bed semi-permanent.
Guess I'm getting started on that tool fetish thing,
slowly but surely.

Re:Floor Jack and Jack Stands
Glad to see you went with the heavier Jack stands, can't over spend when it comes to your safety

Harbor freight Tools has an aluminum Floor jack on sale much lighter and easier to work with. Take a look at their website, I don't recall the price off hand.

Re:Floor Jack and Jack Stands
Be careful with those aluminum floor jacks from Harbor Freight !! I picked up two of them for the shop and neither one holds anything bigger than an import without bleeding down.
They seem to work long enough to get a jackstand under the vehicle but still makes me worry. We are sending ours back.

PISTOL
