Question Flashlight recomendations

I'm in the need of a new flashlight and the old Mag light just don't cut it for brightness. Size isn't to important but no bigger than my 3D. I need something with a good spot beam. Rechargable would be nice too. Can ya'll give me some ideas, I was told the Streamlight UltraStinger is a good one. Budget is about 100 bucks or so. ( I have a gift certificate for Cabelas )

Stinger is excellent. I have the Scorpion (tac light). Very bright.

got a stinger and a couple of surefires. definately worht it. the surefires burn through expensive, hard to get batteries though and the stinger while rechargable also has a short light time. one of the nice surefires has leds and the regular bulb to save batt life though... wont be dissapointed.

I second the stinger scorpion or a Surefire. You can't beat the Scorpion for size and brightness it puts the Mag to shame.

I have had my streamlight stinger for almost 10 years and replaced one battery. It has my vote. also look at the strion if cabelas carries it. it is made by stream light and looks like a good one. little more compact than the stinger. good luck

I have had a streamlight SL 20 for 21 years now and still going strong. I'v replaced the battery maybe x4 times, the bulb x3 and the switch x2. The switch and body came with a life time warranty. I bought a stinger about 5 years ago and like it too.

I have 2 surefires one Executive Defender that I carry at work and a G2 that stays in the truck. Both a little bigger than an AA maglite but waaay brighter. Very happy with both of them

I second the surefires, excellent flashlights I have the G2 $30 and it is incredibly bright, two different bulbs 65 lumens or 120 lumens. They do go through batteries, but thats how you know that there working, also buy the batteries off surefires website, way cheaper that way.

As others have suggested, you cant go wrong with either Surefire or Streamlight. Scorpion stays by the bed, a rechargable Stinger HP in the truck, a surefire X200 on the Sig 226 and a Surefire 6p on one of the AR's.

Advance Auto Part has a good 3w LED that uses 2c batteries for $19. Lowes has basically the same one labeled as Task Force 3c for $10 more. Both good 3w LED.
