Angry Enough Already!!

Tropics are sending the 3rd visitor to my area this coming weekend! Ike looks like it'll be sending it's nasty side right through our area. Edourard took out a tree and did $4000 damage to my Sea Doos. Gustav just blew things around a small bit (caused most of it's problem by evacuees passing through), now Ike looks to bring some bad stuff to visit. Wish us luck! Pray for the folks down on the coast, thier gonna need it.

Looking at the prog charts this morning the eye is predicted to pass right over us. Just great...... Guess I'll spend this morning looking for a generator, getting fuel stockpiled and to batten down the hatches.

I'll be praying for you man, feels like Rita again, but worse, we didn't even see rain from Rita, just all the drama. LaGrange is a big mid-point town for ppl coming out of Houston, when Rita came the national gaurd had to be called to LaGrange because ppl were pulling guns and knives out on ppl at the gas stations. I'm keeping protection in the vehicle and staying away from town.

Here's an evacuation map for the Harris county area. You can scroll your mouse to zoom in for zip codes. http://www.hcoem.org/HCMap.aspx?P=Evacuation

Praying for you guys...hang in there.

Looks as if Ike will visit Illinois as well, but in a highly reduced fashion.

Keep looking up...

i can't imagine a 20'surge in a county that average 18-21' elevation. i lived in dickenson in '79 when we had 11'surge and 42inches of rain it was devastating

certainly will have you in my thoughts and prayers. take care of yourselves.

Well I'm ready, 50 gals gas, 50 gals diesel, 7 days of food and water, guns loaded (note the first 2 items on the list), generator serviced and connected to the house. Bring it on! I'm just ready to get it over with.

They say it may move further east, that I don't need, Rita took that track and tore the dam on the lake up, caused a year of economic "downturn" around my house. Well it's outa' my hands we'll know in about 48 hours!

Yeah I got out of my condo this morning near 89th street on the seawall. I was supposed to go into work today but I was called at 7:30 this morning and they said not to worry about coming in and that they are evacuating our patients. I filled the back seat with my clothes and some valuables. Put the quad and a chain saw in back. Left stuff behind I can live without.

I ran up to the north part of town without catching traffic and sured up my barns on our land in Cut & Shoot. I'm praying they don't go down because I don't have insurance out there... but it's about 90 miles inland so who knows.

I pulled out to 242 and I45 around 4-5pm to cut across to Magnolia on 1488 and noticed the freeway was a cluster F so i went north on the back roads and cut across the back way going south.

At this point I'm not expecting to go back to my condo in Galveston and plan to start over................ My only regret is not getting one, not one, photo of the gulf off my porch . Not one **** photo.

I was really expecting this to hit south of corpus. But this one is looking like it's following the path of the great storm of 1900.

Early AM I'm going to call some people i know to see if they have found a place to go... Couple older folk I'm kinda worried about now that I think about it.

I'll be making one more run this morning to TSC for a generator. Supposedly a trailer full of generators will be delivered this morning. If not guess I'll wait for FEMA to give me one.

Have food, fuel and batteries stockpiled. Will pickup my Mother In Law and her supplies and secure her house. Don't want her alone during the storm.
