We cant get enough people in the dore. We had a companie meating the other day and they said that out of all of our costomers the worst forcast was flat. Otherwise they where all up from a year ago so I am not to woried. The news as always wont tell ya the good things just the bad. As stated above good news dont get ratings just the bad so thats all you are gona hear.

I couldn't care less if my job ends....Heck that means I could spend more time at our claim. Take some time to harvest a moose, couple Boo and a a freezer full of fish. I have enough ammo and extra lead an powder to keep myself fed for years to come. I can head up into the mountains and get enough gold to survive the winters. Heck I might just quit now instead of waiting 5 more years.

All in all it sounds much better then the talking heads make it out to be!

I figure this board is a good section of America to ask, as most of us are service oriented workers.

We are a wood packaging company (Pallets, Skids, Crates anything wood). We just need basic labor. These days its hard to find someone who wants to use their hands and pride to make money.

Fellas .... just keep in mind that the gravy train is gonna come to an end one day. Enjoy it while you have it and at whatever point in your career that you happen to be right now, make darn sure you are setting yourselves up for the next chapter. You'd be surprised at how many folks spend 20-30 years in the service only to fall flat on their face because they haven't made themselves marketable.

I have an ok job now but will be flying out for an interview with a better place very soon. More $$, more time at home and work that I enjoy doing.

Not sweating the economy doomsayers on TV. We are still a single income family and can make ends meet just fine.

Cheers,
PISTOL

There should have been a selection for retired as well.
Up until August 2006, I worked as civil servant for the local water dept for the City of Los Angeles.
Been there a total of 40+ years.
Worked on a two man truck repairing customer water meters in the field.
Anything from 3/4" house to 2" commercial water meters and associated plumbing.
Got tired of the booksmart idiots, with no infield experience, telling me how to do my job.
My partner, who had almost the same amount of time, retired at about the same time.
