DUI on a Horse

I know somebody who got a DUI on a bicycle - he was at a party at his apartment complex's pool house and rode his bike there. Had only a couple of drinks, got on his bike to ride home, not even close to inebriated. Local PD was waiting on street and tried to pull him. Guy said you have to be kidding and peddled off - cop hopped back in car, came screaming around him, and bounced patrol car up on to sidewalk in front of him. Guy could not believe the BS and refused to take field sobriety test. They took him downtown where he refused the Breathalyzer test "on principle." Instant loss of license for 30 days. Lawyers told him he screwed himself "on principle" by not taking the sobiety and then the Breathalyzer tests which would have cleared him instantly. Last I heard he was still fighting it but the insurance company really nailed him on premiums and no lawyers wanted to touch it (I reckon he hadn't found a starving lawyer yet).
Also, it is not unusual to see numerous DUI citatrions listed during Mule Days in Benson, NC every October. This year they also started cracking down on golf carts, ATVs, and RTVs for drinking and driving. I do know of at least one guy who got a DUI on a horse a couple of years ago because he was about passd out in the saddle and horse walked into crowd when he inadvertently kneed the horse that way. Too many youung-uns around in the crowd to have that happening.

DUI/DWI isn't just for motor vehicles. It's for any vehicle.
The key is how vehicle is defined in your states laws. Here's in Tx it's anything that can tranport a person(s). Which means yes you could be arrested for DWI. Even still they could easly get you for PI(public intoxication)
