Dualsport riders?

After 20 yrs of sportbikes, woods racing, roadracing, etc, I bought a KLR650 last year. 15k miles in 13 months, having more fun than ever. 50+mpg sure is nice.

I have ridden a Suzuki DR650 a few times. I thought it was nice, and I wouldn't mind owning one.

I have a WR250 with a Detachable dual kit, mainly use it on the trails though, don't see too much highway time.

Been thinking of getting the Baja Designs kit to make my Honda XR-250 street legal. The thought of having to kickstart the thing in the parking lot on 100* days makes me think twice about buying a dual sport with the magic button though

Nothing more fun than a big stroke dual purpose. I would like to pull one behind my truck and slide in.

I had a new DR650 a couple years back, but I didn't really like it. I got beat to death by wind on the highway, and jerked all over the road , and on dirt it just slid , or buried itself . I'll stick to a dirt bike for off road , and a fairing street bike for the highway.

I had my klx650 on the street for a while. What a hoot!!! Shaved head, high compression piston, hotter cams and an open pipe. Love to pull up to the guys on a cell phone with the window down and crack it. Fun!!!! The thing is silly loud!!!!

I ride an XT225. I like it better than my past street bikes. It's light and feel like riding a moutain bike with a motor. I changed out the sprocket to get better highway speeds, but I wouldn't ride it on long hauls.. the wind and noise would probably wear me out.

Got a home made hitch carrier for it and can easily load it and go.

last tank it got about 70 MPG... good thing too, since it only has a 2 gallon tank..

That looks like a lot of fun. My brother and I, along with some of our friends, are looking into getting dual sports. We are trying to get a whole group of us together. I figured I could find some pretty cheap but it seems with the way fuel prices are everyone has the same idea and they are all going for pretty good money.

I bought my '07 last year for $800 under MSRP, now they are full MSRP plus whatever the dealer wants to tack on. I helped my cousin buy one a coupla weeks ago, had to call 15 dealers in 4 states, and only found 4 '08 KLRs available.
What else can you buy, new, with a warranty, for $5300, that gets 50+ mpg?

Love my dual sport! Its a stretch to call it one but i do ride it back and forth to work @ 35mpg. Put a 3.4 tank on it for those trips to CO but it helps around town too. Put about 100 miles before it hits reserve. What a beast it is CRF450X 05'. Put a dual sport kit on it from e-bay and when i titled it new, didn't even need an inspection. Pretty cool beatin your dirtbike in the woods with full coverage insurance. Ride on friends!
