Evening everyone. Had a problem with the Iguana tonight,I think he had a prolapse this evening. No 24 hr vet so mom is coming by in the AM to take him to his normal vet to get checked out. I would but I'm still in my probationary period at work and the wife is out of town right now. Hope the little guy is ok, I feel bad that I can't help him right now.

Got the grass mowed after work today, took forever to mow. All the rain we had lately made it GROW tall and thick. I ended up filling the truck bed up over the rails with clippings. I should have just baled it instead!

Work is doing well still, was slow today. Spent most of the day waiting to get fit tested for a respirator.

How's everyone been?

You make it sound soooo easy... NOT!

I have a hard enough time "JB Welding" something together let alone using an actual welder

Morning DTR.. I'm actually at work this early. Been here since 5:30

How about we start an on-site school for prospective pipeliners that have welded before, just not pipe? We could charge an appropriate amount to get them acclimated to pipe welding, introduce them to the in and outs and set up a test.

That's true. But on the other side of that, they could do a little research, find out what is different about the job they're trying to get from what they're used to and do a little practice before they try and test out. I consider myself a decent welder but there's no way I would try to test out on pipe without a lot of research and about a week's worth of practice first.

Morning.

Today is Terdsday, June 10th.

On this day in 1776 - The Continental Congress appointed a committee to write a Declaration of Independence.

1801 - The North African State of Tripoli declared war on the U.S. The dispute was over merchant vessels being able to travel safely through the Mediterranean.

1854 - The U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, held its first graduation.

1898 - U.S. Marines landed in Cuba during the Spanish-American War.

1940 - Italy declared war on France and Britain. In addition, Canada declared war on Italy.

1942 - The Gestapo massacred 173 male residents of Lidice, Czechoslovakia, in retaliation for the killing of a **** official.

1943 - The Allies began bombing Germany around the clock.

1970 - A fifteen-man group of special forces troops began training for Operation Kingpin. The operation was a POW rescue mission in North Vietnam.

1984 - The U.S. Army successfully tested an antiballistic missile.

1987 - An earthquake hit 15 states from Iowa to South Carolina.

Coffee, tea and ph00 is on because Eric was too lazy to do it.

Ya know..........that pipe is round. If you'd just roll the pipe it would be allot easier to find welders. Just about everybody can do flat work.

I guess I'll be leaving now........quietly.

Morning, went to get the coffee going but somebody left the valve open on the acetylene. Suppose to be nice today, but strong winds. Quiet morning so far. Thought about some of you last night. Did some final welding on my new cross member last night and got it mostly painted. It's a 3 piece so I can drop the center if needed. The ends have the long control arms tied into them and can stay bolted to the fram rail if the center needs dropping. Still waiting for a day off work to finish working on the rest of the components. Kailey getting negelected with all this overtime too. Anybody gonna wake the janitor up this morning? Never mind, I'll just go drink his pepsi.meow

I'd be game for that. With this mandatory overtime, I could probably be able to afford tuition, then get the heck outta this building after the class.

Well, I tried to get Blake thinking the other night when I was talking about matter/anti-matter, but it just went over his head like a 747 taking off into a head wind. A matter/anti-matter containment system would hold the arc in place so nice it would be like drawing a line with a magic marker. So much so that any moron could weld pipe. Even... well, y'know.

I completely see your point, and I feel the same way. I would do the same, but it still sucks.

Tuition is actually free. Once we are done with you, you will be able to weld. Now go get a job, cause you owe me 25% of all your earnings.

Maybe I should be a businessman instead....

Naaaaa, if you were a business man, you would know that you would never get a client at 25% rates....

I see someone needs another school about the oilfield.

I work at a roughly 45% markup (to my employers benefit)
