Requesting prayer for my 3 yo granddaughter named IANNA. She was diagnosed with leukemia at 4:30am this morning. Please include mommy and daddy in those prayers for strength and wisdom during this trying time. They just had twins one month ago and this is not the time for this to be happening. Thanks,
Bob

Sorry I could not keep everyone posted on conditions on Ianna. We lost Inet coverage when moving our son's family out of the old house and into the new one. The final tests show the leukemia to be the "ALL" version, probably not one of the worst varieties of this nasty thing. She started steroids and chemo in mego doses. Those steroids are horible. One minute she is fine and playing, suddenly she screams she wants everyone to leave her alone and flays in the air. Then, she comes running into your arms screaming - - all you can do is hold her tight until it passes. Then, she settles down in your arms, hugs you, tells you she loves you, and goes back to playing. Suddenly it starts all over.
Last reports we had when leaving Seattle on Friday were the tests on Thursday showed white blood cells had plummetted which is what they want. Red cells had also on Wednesday and they had to fly some in from
out of state. So, we are believing for a miracle and great knowledge and wisdom for the doctors. Thank you so much for your prayers for her - - and her mom and dad and the new twins - - their lives have suddenly completely changed and will remain this way for about 6 months. They have had to move into Seattle to be near the hospital for emergencies. Miracles have happened for a place for them to stay for rentals are horrible in that city. A small town house near the hospital was made available for them on the short term lease of 6 months for under $1000 monthly from a couple that learned of their plight. This place would normally bring about $3000/month. So, some good things are happening. They will just have to wait until this is over to move into their newly acquired home. Pray hard their previous home will sell quickly. Tough to make two house payments plus now can't live in either one of them.
Appreciate so much your thoughts and kind words, but mostly those prayers. God will bring them through all this.

Bob,
Thank you for providing an update on Ianna. She continues to be in our prayers. Everyday God is allowing our doctors to find new ways to battle cancer. I came across a video today that I thought I would share if you haven't seen it already.

Bob, if you need me to I would be glad to donate blood or cells from here. I don't know the process for doing it for an out of state recipient but I would provide the donation if you need me to.
Wow, Bob, makes my problems seem laughable. Prayers from out here. We are just up the road a piece.
Not sure how that works but I got blood and stuff if its a match!
Prayers and I'll keep checking in to see what's going on!!

Hey, thanks for the great encouragement and your continued prayers. Some neat things are happening. Our son called this morning on his way into Boeing. He sounded so much more relaxed and happy. Boeing has been super in working with him to provide time off for this event. He has some pretty big projects going on in the engineering department there, but they have let him do a lot of his planning work at home in the evenings on the computer, send them in for his committee, then run in for a few hours for meetings to discuss them. Amazing stuff.
The report this morning was sooo interesting. They decided to move into the town house sooner - - this past weekend. They were grateful for the usage of this little apartment, but with someone living with them 24/7 for caring for the twins plus the sick 3yo, it was proving to be way too small - - - but it had served them well to allow them to arrange other quarters. Saturday, people from Seattle they do not know showed up at their front door to help them pack out of the little apartment they were in - - had trucks, boxes, etc. When they got to the town house, a truck was there with needed stuff from their house on the island of Whidbey brought over by friends from there - - this had been arranged for this meeting unknown to them. Everyone pitched in and moved everything up into the new abode. Someone brought a dining set for them that they needed, another brought a dish set, another silverware. Some brought food. Within a couple hours they were in, beds set up and made, furniture arranged and the people were gone. Todd said the change was dramatic in releasing tension in everyone.
Sunday, Ianna went in for evaluation and testing from the treatments on Friday and Saturday. Her cancer cell evaluation came out 0.000154%. This is way below the projection for this stage of treatment - - everyone was quite pleased and allowed them to tweak the next treatments. Ianna was getting more settled and not flying into her steroid driven rants as badly which had further relieved some tension and anxiety in mommy and daddy. Tough on them to see this in their girl. The twins are adjusting beautifully for only a month old and starting to sleep a little longer between the T-Bone steaks, so everyone is getting a bit more sleep. Getting this town house at the price and conditions they have it in Seattle is nothing but a miracle. Rents are horrible there and this one is quite cheap in comparison and only a six month lease required - - just what the doctor ordered - - and it is quite close to children's hospital - - again, just what the doctor ordered.
This has made grandy and nana much happier when we are now 3000 miles away from them. Appreciate your prayers for our kids and Gkids. This is just the first couple weeks of a 2 year ordeal for them - - so remember them when you are praying. Thanks so much.

Thanks gang - - hang in there with us. I will keep you UTD as info comes in. I know what it is in that household with the new twin babies plus the 3yo coming off the walls, so I am not expecting daily updates. This weekend should have some results - they just supposedly got internet turned on yesterday, so should have something starting when they can break away and do it.

Update on the granddaughter. Talked with her "mama" today (the steroids have made her regress even to calling them mama and daddy) and the latest blood test showed the white cells back up over 500, which is what they wanted at this time. With the heavy mega doses given her the last weeks, it had destroyed white cells. This can cause the bone marrow to not want to grow new white cells. They backed of at the end of last week and they bounced right back to 525. Wow. The marrow did not forget how to do it. Saw a pic of her today - - very sad. She has put on a huge amount of weight in just the 10 days since we have seen her. Something about the steroids make them unable to determine when they are full. She is eating constantly and huge amounts. Doc said unless it become rediculous, let her be. Next two weeks everything will change with the change in treatment objectives. She will become nauseous, not want to eat. She is loosing her hair in brushfulls. Mama says she is doing better with the schedules of feeding twins plus taking care of Ianna, but she does have help with her 24/7 and she is learning to adjust to it. Our daughter flies out this weekend and will stay with them for a month to help.
Soooo, keep them prayers coming, gang. Also pray for a lady named Liz. A very good friend, Larry, has been battling a cancer that hit him suddenly 4 months ago. Seemed like all was going fairly well and starting to gain strength. Talked with him on Thursday (visits are limited to protect against transmitting germs) and he was out in the garage wiping the bugs off the front of the car - - first time in 4 months out of the house itself for some other reason than getting in the car to go to treatment or getting into the rescue squad. Suddenly Saturday his temp flared, rushed him to emergency, he died Sunday night at 11pm. Remember his wife - - she is devistated. She just whipped cancer treatment over the past 2 years. Larry was a gentle giant, 6'7", great electric bass player and singer - - they sang for parties, in our church, etc. Neat guy and great friend. I will miss him as will Liz.
Thanks,
Bob
