Well g'deevening boys and girls. Been awhile since I've had a few minutes to even get on my 'puter. I see ev'ryone here is alive an' kickin'. That's GOOD!

Claude, sounds like you made out perty dern good at that carvin' competition. Congrats! tell your daughter I said 'way to go' too. Third in a national competition ain't nuthin' to sneeze at!

Hat, I'm b'ginin' to know how you feel... mowin' the lawn seemed pretty relaxin this AM. Spent the rest of the day in the woods spreadin' wood chips on the trails. Makes 'em nice an' smooth, not to mention reeeeal purty! Felt good to get back out there tho. I like teachin', but I need my 'woods time'!

FivaBob, the f00 been up to snuff lately? I tried to teach him ev'rything I knew!

Thought I was done with the travelin' routine 'til next spring's trip to New England, but I've been asked to be a presenter at a Juvenile Firesetters Conference in New Jersey at the end of November. Kinda honored to be asked, but I dread drivin' all that way. At least there's free food!

Pistol, quit yer gripin' an' get those blowers installed! You've been showin' up the engineers for what... 30 years now? 40? No need to let 'em get the best of ya now! Besides, no one likes a complainer!

Awright, your evenin' coffe is served! Enjoy.

Fly by .... on the way to bed .

Well, I managed to get the last blower tore down to parade rest today. I sure am thankful that I did a tour of duty on a salvage ship (sister ship to the one seen in Men of Honor) ... learned a few tricks back then that served me well today. It looks like I will be home on schedule ... (Claude, send me some wood to knock on !!)

Looking forward to getting back to Mrs. Pistol's cooking. This eating out all the time is getting hard on the waistline. Prime rib last night and top sirloin tonight ... I'll break a buck-forty again pretty soon if I ain't careful .

You folks take care of yourselves. See ya in the morning.

Cheers,
PISTOL

Coffee's on. Fritters out.

Crappy weekend. Friday we had storms blow through and had about a dozen tornadoes around the state. Sounded like a train rolling over the cabin a few times. They said up to 70 mph gusts as it blew in. Saturday the blazer took a puke. Spent half the day trying to diagnose it. Best Homer voice, Stupid computer stuff. After more diagnoseing yesterday, we figure it's the pump AGAIN. Should still be under warranty, but still. It didn't act the same as last time, and I took it for granted it wasn't bad already. Anyway, the garage gets put off yet again. Won't hurt the posts I cut to dry a little more though.
Claude, if you don't ever get up off that sack of seeds, thier bound to take root...
Alright, back to work...

See now? 60 years of experience will always put those engineers in their place!

Fuel pump? I didn't know you'd replaced that recently. I think there's something about the 'new' gas that destroys pumps and components. I've hadda replace the fuel pump on the splitter every year for the last 3 years, and I just did it again a few weeks ago.

Gotta go get the smoke trailer ready to roll.

Yeah, last winter. Pump, tank and sender. The pump had also been replaced right before it was parked for a year or so. I thought maybe sitting had hurt it.

In the 30's with 40kt winds from every direction. I need some insulated undies or a big fire going.
Uneventful drive out. 1187miles in 18 hours.
The new troops got their stuff together, so no real training issues to deal with. Looks like I did a good job of training the first ones and they passed the knowledge along. The OP's are scattered to heck in a handbasket tho. Takes all day to visit them.
Got the rest of the team rolling in today. Got plenty of time to get the presentation stuff done so we'll be ready to dazzle and baffle come Thursday morning.
15 bean soup and fried taters for supper last night will make for an interesting day today. Leftover beans will make a good base for the chili tonight.
Better git. Lots of running around to do today.

YIKES!!! Weather sounds horrible up in Yankee land. Think I will stay down here. Finally got some sun out today after some wonderful rains. Got soaked running for the truck last night.

Hey Scott - - good to see ya - - missed ya, but the Hat man did a good job keeping up with the coffee and even cleaned the place up real good. Now, if Don would just go get some salmon and holler just as he is putting them on the BBQ, we could have a party - - even have some foo foo.

OK, gotta go check the place out after the rain - - then work in the garage and put stuff away after all my projects last week - - looks like my boys were back home and messing around in there. They never could remember to put anything back away. See ya,
