I take it that is some loco engines
When we were down by the rail yard and it was cold they would shoot propane into those locomotive engines till they warmed up. Was wicked cool to see them shooting flames 10ft or so out of the exhaust stacks.

Evenin, other night shift is on. OL just dropped off some chow for me and my Marines, stuffed shells, cesear salad, bread, and citrus tea.
Got some bad news from the doc today... I have an ACL tear. He asked me if I wanted crutches, I told him I was getting around ok thus far... he was a little surprised. I guess this is a pretty serious injury or something. When he did his little test on my knee, he pulled it forward, and the bottom of my knee came forward about an inch, felt all funny.
Tonight is my last night on nights, I get off from after tonight until Monday...
Time to work on the house, I'm all about it.
Ya'll be good.

Yeah, in General Motors EMD's they have large 2-strokes. Similar to a Detroit but alot bigger. Most I worked on were 8, 12, or 16 cylinder 645's and 567's. The 645 and 567 refer to how many cubic inches a single cylinder is. So the 645-16's had a displacement of 10320 cu in. Some turbo and some had roots blowers. If you let some of the blower engines idle long enough they would catch fire in the stacks when the crew would put them under a load. They rarely shut the engines off so if they idles for a few days the exhaust manifolds would soup up with oil and carbon, add some heat and you have an instant fire. Pretty cool to see at night.

Oh, and of course we can't forget these guys who also did some spanking last night!
