Heidi, that really sucks about the state guys. I can't even think of a possible solution (that's not illegal...)

Mornin, DTR. Pourin down the first cuppa joe, got woke up again last night. There are going to be beatings tomorrow, I guarantee it.

ANDWHEN I HAVE THAT WILD HAIR (WELL WE WONT DISCUSS THAT -BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) IT WILL STILL RUN 135 PMH ITS A REALLY FUN CAR TO DRIVE.DUEL OVERHEAD CAM 1800 AND IT WILL COME REAL CLOSE TO RUNNING WITH A 5.0 MUSTANG> FUN -FNU-FUN.

as if that isn't enough, state police have stopped writing tickets for this area. big thing with county district attorney on a traffic 'diversion' program that let's drivers get off without going to Court. the DA gives them 60 days to respond to a ticket and then fails to move the case to trial (a dismissal).
some political power trip versus the state. meeting with the regional commander this week to hear what is up....our Supervising judge for New york state says ignore the program. this costs us money big time regardless.
the reason any of us get involved (fire, ems, etc.) is for safety of the public.

Here, most of the ticket fee goes in to pay for the judges retirement fund. Sounds like they knew just the right tactic to get the judge to bring the prosecutor back down to earth. Something similar here. The prosecutor was sick of dealing with habitual offendor suspended drivers. Wants them all written 1st offense so he doesn't have to push through all the warrants when the court just lets them off easily anyway.

Evening Claude.

Last night, most of the radio towers in the 5th district went down, Wayland to the state line. EVerything came back up before I left this morning. Most of the 6th dist, north to Reed City was fine except for a couple towers. In that area I'd do extra checks in case they were in an area of a bad tower and didn't know it. Today, they are hunting a walk-away from Eagle Village there at Reed City with help of a Coastgaurd chopper. Ionia had the B-93 bash at the fairgrounds. With the weather last night, the dams upriver were overloaded and the fairgrounds below flooded and there are hundreds stranded. Like up to 500 cars. They've been extracting them all day and we're calling for rides. Holland pretty much flooded out last night and US31 north of the town is shut down.

A little, there was some light erosion and puddles when I got home this morning. Finally! Didn't get any all week. Blue berries are forming. Some of my poor trees I planted are comeing back from the dead. A couple are worse off than I thought.

Morning all... (morning here) still stuck in Okinawa. Hoping the typhoon moves out enough to let us be on our way tomorrow. Tired of eating Japanese food for breakfast. All the bacon grease seems to be leaving my veins. That just ain't right. Coffee is decent though.

Madhat, were you at camp Foster here? Spent some time there yesterday... on way to the aquarium. Not a whole lot to do around here is there?

Thanks Heidi! Puppy describes him very well, all 140 lbs of him. He's almost 5 and still acts like he's a pup. Lots of energy in Boomer. I agree it is a very misunderstood breed, lots of people seem to be afraid of them becasue of what they hear on the news. Mine is like a big teddy bear. I believe its all on how they are raised, if they are cared for they will be good pets and if abused then they'll be the ones you hear about in the news.

Evening DTR, busy today for me. Went and got the front windshield tinted this morning, had a 9in eye brow put on. Helps alot with the sun in the cab, actually helps keep it cooler. Washed, waxed, detailed, and polished my truck this afternoon. Looks very good, I think I will be keepin it for a longtime now, was gonna get a 3rd gen but I've been gettin alot of compliments on mine lately and decided I like having a nice looking older truck. Mowed the yard after i got done with my truck and I tended to the tomato plants and the rest of the garden.

Waitin for the GF to come over. Think we're gonna go out for a few drinks after she gets here, then come back and watch a movie. She picked up Gran Torino the other day and Im wantin to see it.

We didn't get all that much here either. Everyone around us must have got a bit tho... going on 24 hours without power. Wouldn't mind as much if Consumers Energy would do just a tad of power line maintenance once in awhile. I've been complaining to them for 3 years now to get the branches that touch the primaries feeding our property trimmed. Even had the forestry supervisor out here to look at them. He agreed and said, "Yep, they need trimming". And that's as far as that went. Idiots.

LOL, I love it. You have a 2002 and think you have an 'older' truck! I have a 97 and think I have a NEW truck!

Got to go feed the generators soon. Again. Spent about $100 in gas today keeping them fueled.

If I were you, I would try to get to Kadena AFB, they have a killer brunch at the officers club... a whole room devoted to b'fast, and a whole room dedicated to lunch. I'm talking crablegs... it's 16 bucks a person, but worth every penny...

We tried that a year ago and had the help of a state rep too. It went no where, even with state involvement. Big surprise there... NOT!

My customer that does power line right of way maintenance for another power co-op told me I need to call them and say, "Yes, I've been trying to trim branches around the power lines in my yard, you know, the ones that don't have that rubber coating on them, and one of the branches has fallen onto your line and now it's sparking and smoking. I'm just really scared that it's going to cut power to the neighborhood, or start the tree on fire, so I think I'm going to try and grab it with a rake or something to get it out from under the branch. That's ok, right?"
He said that Consumers is pretty pro-active when they think they might have a liability issue.
