1944 - During World War II, the Battle of Leyte Gulf ended. The battle was won by American forces and brought the end of the Pacific phase of World War II into sight.

1949 - U.S. President Harry Truman raised the minimum wage from 40 to 75 cents an hour.

1951 - Winston Churchill became the prime minister of Great Britain.

1958 - Pan American Airways flew its first Boeing 707 jetliner from New York City to Paris.

mmmm mmmm good!!!

If yall want to try something that will really fill your methane tanks, Ill send ya some of the BOSS's 15 bean and ham-hock soup..tastes great, but a few hours later, you'll be able to peel paint off the walls...

Not much happening this way, got the new axle installed on the trailer, now trying to get the brakes adjusted properly...
Ive decided to start looking for a new job, dont think me and the National Guard Police are seeing eye to eye anymore..
Got arbitrarily moved to afternoon shifts, with Tuesdays/Wednesdays as my only days off, I will work all holidays and weekends....our new manager has told me that seniority will no longer be considered for shifts, hours, promotions, etc..Ive been there since 9/11/01, and its funny how all her cronies who have less than a year -two years on the job are now working days, Mon-Fri....... so time to move on, as soon as I can find something else... shame too, I had just vested in the retirement plan!

Oh well...

Sorry to hear that Chris. But, you work in a field that has plenty of demand. I'm sure you'll find something.

Yeh, same down here. Snow was just very light and swirling around as it came down. And it is quite cold - - 60 degrees out there in the lanai. Hey, wait a minute - - that isn't snow - - what is that stuff?? Oh, its ashes - - doing a burn in the state park next door. Oh well, I tried.

Hey Chris - - I know we can get discouraged sometimes, but don't blow a good job just because of management change. People come and people go. Think of the long haul. Sorry about the circumstances, but give yourself some time to think about it and feel it out before doing something you will be sorry for doing. Play it cool and smart. Put your feelers out and stay cooperative and upbeat where you are. You will need a recommendation if you leave - - don't dirty the dishes.
