Reporting in that all is well, but wet. Hadn't ridden the scooter in two weeks. Looks like another 3 to 5 inches of rain before it moves out of here.
Everyone doing well here, just wishing for some sunshine to dry things out.
Haven't had much chance to get on the computer during the day time. Wife has it pretty well tied up with the g-boys home schooling this year. She has got her hands full.
Made a run to Webber Falls, OK and picked up 1900 lbs of hard red wheat. I didn't realize that any was being grown east of I-35, but there's a couple of farmers in that area that's having good luck with it. Six hour round trip beats 18 any day. The Dodge handled it without a complaint.
Got the barn in the dry. Waiting on enough sunshine so I can see to get some lights in.
Work is progressing on the range. Got 250 yds on my place already and neighbor has given the OK for another 250 on his.
Retirement is going great. Blood pressure has dropped and meds have been reduced. Got my weight down to low 180's, from 200+, and feeling great. The attitude is even better.
Getting off here for a bit. Storms blowing through and who knows when we may have to make a dash for the "fraidy hole".

Shortround out

Evening DTR. Worked on dads car today, needs new hub bearing assemblies in the rear. Ordered the part and they won't be in till noon tomorrow. He's selling his honda after I get the hubs replaced. Just bought himself an 08 caravan. Saturday is my sis's b-day so she'll be in town for the weekend. Think the wife and I are going to take her out for dinner one night. How's everyone else doing tonight?

Ahh... STOKE!

Couple of shots of the kids today.

In the woodlot. They all seemed interested at least. Maybe they weren't, but they were polite!

Evening Scott. Nice pics you posted. Friend of mine runs a saw mill from time to time. Him and afew others built it to run at a few of the steam shows he goes too. He powers with his Advance Rummley steam engine, prettycool to see it in operation. I got to run the traction engine a few times before but it wasn't hooked up to the mill at the time. Got to drag a bulldozer around with it.

We've got lots of it too! Actually, I don't know why you're BUYING lumber when we could make it for free right here. Maybe the governor is paying you too much!

Put a cushion on that chair and you won't get so many splinters.

Scott, when mom and dad retire and sell their business i'd like to cut down a tree on the property before they finalize the sale. They have an oak that has to be over 100 yrs old. It's several feet wide at the base, i'd love to cut it down and make some boards out of it.

Around here if it's more than 30" across the base they have to send it out to be cut.

All that needs to be done is to quarter it the long way with a chainsaw. Then the quarters can be rift sawn or quarter sawn for even more value in the lumber.

They won't put that kind of effort into it. The wood yard guys here know somebody out of the area that they ship the big wood to. If you've got big wood you actually have to call ahead and make sure your yard guy will take it.
