Fine, let's start over then...

"Or what? You'll mute him?"

Haven't done much to the truck yet, no time. Got the 55th wheel off and the stack lowered Sunday and that's about it.

Still gonna try and put the welder on there? I was thinking about that earlier and may have some more ideas, if the measurements add up, and you still want to consider that route.

A lot of the stuff you remember was with the big block cars. A regular Camaro with a 327 in it was pretty fast, but nothing compared to my truck.
that is about the only hotrods that that really out perform my truck at factory rated HP. carburetors and big air filters certainally sounded better.

some of the older vehicles had the style. some just completely missed the target. Still think the old first gen rams looked the best.

evening all. got a bit of wind and rain last night. power went off about 1am...

Well remember I said to cut the bed and place the welder across the frame.

Maybe do it the other way, lower the welder longways in between the frame. Should be able to get it just above the driveshaft that way. Not sure if that will give you enough clearance or not. Ramps could be built to park the Jeep over the welder.

Welder is ~ 3ft tall right. Drop it down 1 ft, then you need 2ft of clearance for the Jeep. If it has say ~ 8" of ground clearance then you need ramps only 18" tall to clear it. If that puts the top of the Jeep at the same height as the top of the truck, your good.

Not a bad idea.

I think I'm going to first try to mount it parallel to the frame on the outside of the frame rail, like a tool box. I just have to figure out a way to either hinge it so the majority of the welder will be accessible for maintenance, or put it on some kind of slide, like a drawer. It's 28" high not counting the exhaust stack, which I could do without if I had to, but it's only 18 wide and almost 48 long.

I still think it would work. Or at least be a viable option.

Anyway. I'm out. Later.
