Drove a couple new Chevy's, here's what I thought

I got a job at the local car dealership as a "tradeoff salesman" (thats what the call me anways).
Basically I drive a new car/truck to another dealer 2-3 hours away, and then drive another new car/truck back from them. My first "haul" I got to drive a new Silverado crew cab 4x4 shortbed with a V8 gasser. On the way back, I got to drive a new jet black Suburban with ALL the bells and whistles that added up to about $50k. I was suprised they trusted me with that.... Anyways it was a gasser also. I did like both vehicles, they seemed to handle a little more "squirly?" than my truck. If I sneezed, I would almost run of the road. The interiors were nice, but something about them just doesnt click, even though the suburban had wood grain trim it seemed kind of fragile to me. The Silverado got about 19mpg and the Suburban got 20 (so says the window sticker) I was in heaven in the Suburban though..I sat back in the heated leather seats opened the sunroof and listened to the built in XM satellite radio all the way home... If I had kids, they coulda watched a DVD in the back. All in all the chevy's seemed solid, but being gassers they seemed really underpowered to me since I drive my ctd all the time. Although I was in love with the suburbans features by the time i got back, I wouldnt trade in my mean diesel for anything! I kept thinking...wow I could pull both these cars at the same time and not even sweat going up hill...

I agree ... all those bells and whistles they put in the suburbans and yukons are definately nice for traveling with a family. I wouldn't mind shoehorning a cummins in our yukon ... that would be a sweet ride once it was done.

I like the look of the new Suburbans. I got to ride in the back seat of one and didn't think much of the ride.

My 06 Xterra is REALLY touchy on the steering too. Very quick ratio and very tight.

Dad bought an 07 new body style Silverado 2500 with a V8 gasser in it. He got the LTZ. Amazing interior on this truck and the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in, period! (Leather)

Way, way underpowered though and gets about 13mpg.

But that interior is enough to make me want to look at a Chevy next time around (with a diesel, of course)
