I ran an airtight wood stove in my previous home burning hickory train wheel chocks. I had 14ft vaulted ceilings and ran single wall up to within 2 feet of ceiling. Went double wall thru the roof and 2 feet above peak. I had so much radiant heat I could heat entire home with the ceiling fans and one small chimney box fan. Started fire with scraps then added two 8x8" 18" rough cut pieces of hickory, choked it down and had 67-70f almost all night.

Now with the announcement of a cash grab increase of 40% on natural gas coming, I'm going to go to pellet in the house and wood in garage before next winter.
Might add some coal to garage/shop.

My main concern for the piping was....
Hot burning ashes after the second barrel. I'm guessing it's not factor.

I run a wood stove now in the main floor of house. I was looking at this double barrel set up to heat the basement with expectations that it wound have heat up the ceramic tile and hard wood floors.

I have a wood furnace in the basement. 68 degrees feels pretty good when you've got a warm floor to stand on, too.
