Don't use fuse taps!!!

Was powering some items with fuse taps ,went to power from an alternate location and fuse would no longer fit without taps. They had expanded the connectors within
the fuse block. I removed and disassembled fuse block and was able to retension the clips but what a P I T A. I will be ordering a painless wiring kit and suggest everyone else should seriously consider this.

There was a thread awhile back about some fuses that have a tap built into them.

Commatoze found them and posted the link.

Does away with the spreading problem.

That painless wiring block sounds like a great thing though, lets you have constant power, switched power, under hood mountable weatherproof, or in cab mounted.

I'll be getting one soon to hook up lights, guages, etc.

phox

Re:Don't use fuse taps!!!

I installed a PWK on my truck. It's very straight forward to install and I can't think of an easier way to add seven circuits. The best part is that this is TOTALLY independant of the factory fuse block so no one can give you any static over tapping into a factory wire or circuit.

I also noticed at the local Auto Zone store an add a circuit for mini fuses. The aftermarket fuze plugs in like the factory only it has another circuit on top of it with a wire coming out of it. You simple plug into the wire and have another circuit. This however does piggy back the two circuits.
