Don't forget what today is.
I don't want to come off as someone who is disrespectful of 9/11 and all the innocent lives that where lost that tragic day. I'm just as upset as any of you. No matter what actually went down that day, it will always remain a horrible part of our history.

I remember that morning, getting the kids ready for school, had the news on in the background and my wife shouted 'oh my god, the world trade center is on fire!!!!!' We sat and watched in disbelief until the second plane hit. I remember my grandmother, who was a nurse in WWII, called and asked me to come and get her. My other memory is screaming at matt lauer for saying that the tower looked like it was leaning and it could fall. I screamed at the TV for him to shut the heck up, those towers will never fall. When I got to my grandmothers, she had the thousand yard stare. It was all coming back to her, I did my best to comfort her, but the memories were rushing back, and she was reliving what she thought would never happen again. She later told me that the cuban missile crisis was different because she would have seen it coming and, as much as we could, we were prepared. I remember her saying that at least the Russians had enough guts to face us toe to toe, these barbarians didn't even have enough guts to strike a military target.
God Bless You, and God Bless Us All.

I have removed my statement that some people have taken offense to.
I remmeber those momments clearly.
I was in University, just starting my second year.
I was having a coffee and a bite to eat in the caffeteria of the University centre.
Watching it happen on television... Not sure I ever made it to class, I drove 50 miles home to be with my family that afternoon.
A terrible, sickening, gut wrenching feeling of helplesness.
