Guys we need to keep an eye on our members in the path of these storms tonight. Our brothers in the Great State of Tennessee have suffered ten fatalities since earlier this afternoon and this event is far from over. That is on top of the others they lost earlier this week. It hasn't made it to B'ham yet but is supposed to later tonight. We had a confirmed touch down in NW Alabama just before dark. Keep them in your prayers if you will. To my Alabama brothers I'll be up most of the night. Contact me if I can help any of ya'll. Rick
living in texas my whole life i've experienced both hurricanes and tornadoes, and let me tell u what. tornadoes are by far more scary. sure a hurricane is hundreds of times bigger but u know its coming. tornoadoes just pop up suddenly and u dont know if they're gonna get you or not.the most eery sound you'll ever hear is that tornado siren goin' off at 3am. i gettin goose bumps just typing this

Thanks Derek! We're OK, just a little shaken, but not stirred. Alabama had several confirmed sighting and multiply touchdowns but I haven't heard of any fatalities, yet. The City of Gardendale, a suburb to the NW took a hit. We were spared a direct hit. The local TV stations were tracking as many as six vortex signatures on the radar headed for us or in our direction at the same time. Wind shear on the radar was at seventy mph and that means there was a tornado in the storm. I got the wife and dog into our "safe place" about two minutes ahead of the hail. Fortunately, no freight trains, just wind in the forty plus range when it got to us. The storms were clocking about sixty mph ground speed so the first wave didn't last long. Center Point, one mile away had one inch hail. Thanks to all of you who took a few seconds to say a few words for us, the wife and I appreciate it! DON'T FORGET the Tennessee boys, they need it more. Thanks again, Rick
