Mexstan,
Some would argue that I am not a Texan 'cause I wasn't born here (just got here as fast as I could) but most of those definitions make sense to me.
A question about the C-Nile virus. I have all experienced all of those symptoms (sometimes more than one at a time). I am only in my mid 30's, should I worry? I was thinking of asking my doctor, but I think I am suffering from the D-Nile virus, and have told myself that at this age, it can't be the C-Nile virus.

I catch the show Texas Justice whenever I can and I've heard at least half of those phrases, so it must be true.

~notintheheartofTexasDave

So it's true then, Texan's do speak a lingo of their own?. And pronounce their words funny.
When I moved to Canada they had a hard time understanding me, so I had to learn how to pronounce the words the way they accent them. Told the Canuks I had to learn to talk bad English so that they could understand me. So does it follow that if I ever move to Texas that I would have to learn REALLY bad English just to be understood? ;D

What you mean, REALLY bad english? We talk good english down here. We talk perfectly normal. It's everywhere else that talks odd.

Just don't forget:

battrys - those heavy black things under the hood of your truck that has electricity in them (normally) so you can start the engine.

tars - not that ugly, stinky black stuff, but those heavy round black things under your truck that roll around and let it go fast down the road

far - not a long ways away, but something that will burn your fingers if you put them in it.

Yonder - not here, but over there

Outchonder - way over there

A piece - not too far away, i.e., up the road a piece

And many others I don't remember at this time.

DW
