Dodge Durango questions
Hi all, this is directed more towards a Dodge Tech, I guess. Wife has a 2000 Durango. For the past 3 years, the passenger door windows have not been working. I realize theres an issue with the regulators, but didn't want to spend $300
or so to replace them. In the past, I have taken the door panels off, and taken the bolts loose on the regulator, and they seem to "unstick" themselves, and work for a few months again. Now, the passenger door on the drivers side has another problem. The electric door lock, makes a "brrrrrrrtt" sound when locking/unlocking the door. I took the latch assembly off a while back, and can't find where anything is broke, or, unusually tight. My wife was out of town the other day, and I had her pick up a replacement from a Chrysler dealership in Grand Forks.
My question is, before I stick the new one in, is there anything I should be checking for first? I would guess, that it's getting power, since the mechanism does lock the door, but, no longer strong enough to unlock it. Would this just be a case of a weak solenoid? Too that end, since I'm going to be taking the door panel off (again.....) I also purchased a new regulator assembly for that side. May as well kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.
Thanks in advance.
