Dodge Durango
Dodge Durango
Anyone out there have one? How's it worked so far? My brother is looking to buy one. The only thing I know about them is that it seems they had brake problems. One guy at work had to have new rotors within a year or two. Then I was having some brake work done on my pickup, there was a couple in the shop complaining about how their Durango needed a complete job at 20K. Have any of you guys heard this or had this happen? My brother is looking at a new one for probably 90% soccer mom duty. Might see 20 miles a year of off road to go get a Christmas tree. Any pros/cons?

Thanks
Re:Dodge Durango
We love ours. 75,000 miles and counting. 2000 SLT plus.
I've had one thing go bad. Output speed sensor went at around 55,000 miles. The part was cheaper than the detuctible on the extended warranty so I just bought it outright.
That has been the ONLY thing ever to go wrong with it.
MIne has the 5.2 V-8 and averages 16.5 with 100% city(houston morning and afternoon traffic) driving and 19 with mostly highway miles

Re:Dodge Durango
They have been very good selling vehicles for me. And we have not seen any irregular problems with them in the shop either. We are about giving them away right now. They have $4,500 rebates and if you are a farm bureau member you get the extra $500 so thats $5,000 off. I have been selling them for invoice, so that is 5g's under invoice
They are putting these huge deals on the 03's because the 04 Durango will be all new from the ground up. They are trying to keep that secret though because 03 stock is high. Also, the Hemi will be available in the 04 8) 8) 8)

Thanks guys,

They are offering him 5k rebate and 5k trade for a 97ish(I can't remember) Grand Prix. Seems like a fair deal to me. I think he said $21K with the trade for a 4x4. Sounds like good reports though.

Thanks again,

gitchesum / Cummins Luke. Brother bought it last weekend. He got the 5k trade for a 95 Grand Prix on top of the 5K rebate. Drove it last night. Pretty impressed, good enough power for a grocery getter. Nice ride. Decent room, I'd never been in one before, I thought they were smaller. It's the SLT package. Good call guys!
Re:Dodge Durango
My previous daily driver was a '98 4X4 Durango with the 5.2, JBA Shorty Headers, Mopar Cold Air Induction, and Mopar 3" Cat Back. It would pass anything but a gas station. Original engine blew up at 1,100 miles, new crate engine under warranty then no problems. (It was a flaw in piston #4) Nothing but scheduled maint. No brake problems of any kind. The A/C had trouble on our 110+ degree days, could have been the color (Intense Blue), it wasn't worthless but it wasn't great. I put 110,000 miles on it and regularly pulled a 3,500 pound boat with it.
