disk brakes

has anyone had an experience of front disk pads wearing uneven;
that is; rear pad (inside) is almost new after forty thousand miles, front or
outer pad is half gone. What could cause this?
thanks for your input.

Yes I have. It means you caliper slide pins are sticking. Either you can lube up the slides and all is good or you have to get new calipers. If its been stuck for a while, you will probably need new claipers.

Usually my inside wears quicker than my outside. It's done this since the truck was new.

thats normal. the piston is on the inside, so it pushes the inside pad into the rotor before the caliper starts to slide. 99% of the time the inside pad will wear down faster

Yes but the origonal poster is the oposit. Its sticking calipers. It will pull in evenly but because its sticking its holding the outside against the rotor longer.

i was replying to what bigblue had said. u are correct if the outer pad is wearing faster, its the caliper pins not allowing the caliper to slide.
