There's been some talk on the metal forums that Vinnie got shot or killed as well. I hope it's just rumor talk.

Crazy freakin people in this world...

I heard on the radio tonight that Ohio has a law that doesn't allow law enforcement to be present inside a club concert like that. The only reason they can go inside is for emergencies or to make an arrest. What kinda crap is that? And they should at least have a private security crew frisking people down at the door.

I cant believe dime is gone. I read about it on 4m, a racing forum of all places. He is/was one of the most versitile and creative guitarists. Definitly a sad day.
Vinnie was not hurt (physically). he said "I will never play on stage again"

Read about it this morning... sux! I saw Pantera w/ White Zombie some years back... that was a great show!

I'm just glad that cop was nearby and put an end to it before the nut could do anymore damage!

The shootings came on the 24th anniversary of perhaps the most well-known assassination of a rock star — that of former Beatle John Lennon outside his New York City apartment in 1980.
What a shame...I saw pantera play a few times...during a break Dimebag got on stage and jamed by himself...solo...i have to say that he was the fastest, most acurate guy I have ever heard...

I also thank god that there was a police officer that acutally steped up and took this scum bag out so that he couldn't harm anymore people....and thats better than us hearing about a 2 year trial for that scum...

I can't believe this. One of the XM radio stations has been playing pantera all day in tribute to him. I wonder what goes through people's minds when they do stuff like this.

"The answer my friend,... is blowing in the wind."

Don't give it a second thought. Insane acts cannot be understood by sane people. You know the saying "Stuff Happens".

I do feel for you guys that knew him have to deal with this. Us old **** have lost several rockers too. Most to drugs and booze, but they are still gone and we loved the music they made.

Jimmy Hendricks
Janice Joplin
John Lennon
Jim Morrison

and many more.

Now our generations have something more in common, unfortunately.
