Not a chance. My line of work won't see any improvement for another year or more. To give you an idea of how bad folks have gotten......... I checked on a job I bid 3+ months ago. I have been this contractor's only dirt guy for the last 3 1/2 years. The bid was to demo a large brick home and dig some stumps on some large pines. The fellow he's going with under bid me by over $7k. He's going to get the job, be working for below cost and have to dispose of the house debris illegally. I can't do that, it's not worth the risk.

How is the venison Claude? I need to get out hunting this year, if this lay-oof thing keeps up I'll have plenty of time for some hunting.

I can handle that, I just can't see going out here, working the equipment just as hard and having to work below cost. That doesn't make semse but folks are doing it just to stay busy. How can they afford to work and lose money?

Yeah I don't understand how someone can work a job like that and lose money. If I am working on a job I am doing it to make money, not to lose money. There are a few smaller contractors around here that practice that, and their help, equipment, and work quality shows it.
