Did anyone see Dateline NBC tonight??

It was about an undercover car theft fencing sting. Something very disturbing was the huge number of late model RAM pickups that came in!!!! I went on the dateline.msnbc.com website and saw the list of most commonly stolen vehicles. You guessed it. 04 Dodge RAM was number 10. They even made a comment to the thieves in an attempt to lower the offer price (words to the effect), " ... but it's a Dodge. We have so many already." Pretty scary.

I have the Laramie with the mfr anti-theft device that, I'm sure, is all but useless against a pro. What, if anything, are owners of these pickups doing to protect against theft? Kill switches? Lojack?

I don't know what to do? I guess you could go with the low jack! I have been broken into 3 times so I know I am pushing my luck. So far they haven't tried to start it but the last time they took my owner book and all my important paperwork!

Just need an alarm system that shocks the crap out of them!!

Not much if any theft around my neck of the woods either, but I hear ya! Nothing I hate worse than having someone steal from me. Especially my truck. Wonder why Dodge trucks are stolen so much? Ease of theft? High market value for the used parts? Desire for them in other countries? HHHMMM!

Tire Iron

How do you know they used a tire iron did they leave it in the truck?
Hope you carry a firearm there....maybe change the paint color to flat black- so it isn't so pretty.

my 99 they broke into by punching a screwdriver into the doorlocks. i say that plural b/c the 1st one they just shredded the lock so they did the 2nd one and got in. thus, ruining both locks ands denting both doors.

my 05 they just smashed out the driverside rear window......

theres no lower life form than a thief

Sandy, OR is the home of the Trunk Monkey!

Lots of CTD's around here, haven't heard of any break ins, although most folks carry guns. Must have something to do with it.

Me too, my oldest dog does not bark, he waits for you to get close enough to bite if he is in the back of my truck. Otherwise, he is laid back. Kinda like he knows he is suppose to be protecting it. My buddy last week bet me he could get a beer out of my cooler in the truck with Hoss in the back. He learned otherwise quickly.....
