denali trucks

Anyone here ever own a gmc denali truck?
I have a dodge ram 2500 4x4 with the ctd and was looking at 1/2 ton crewcabs for a nicer ride[keeping the dodge]
how are these denalis on fuel with the awd?
did you like it?
how was the quality of the truck?

thanks for any input

Dad's got a 2000 Denali awd Yukon. He gets about 18 avg. but thats in Montana and almost all highway trips. It has been a great vehicle and has only had to have the front diff carrier replaced. He's pushing 100K miles on it.

The pickups that had that screwy rear wheel steering didn't go over that well IMO. We test drove one back in 2003 and it was a strange feeling to change lanes and turn in parking lots, it was easy to park though and I guess they are great when pulling bumper pull trailers. I see an occasional one around here .

I like them for comfort and ergonomics in the interior space, pretty nicely laid out.

a friend has a 07 gm truck, denali package-averages 15mpg with the 6 liter awd.
rides nice with great seats. The rest of the truck is just a regular pickup though.

Its a nice ride! I had an 02 GMC 1500HD crew cab and it rode really well also and pretty comfortable- great seats.
I'd avoid the four wheel steering models as suggested earlier though.

Good luck, Kurt
