Crawford Texas Protesters
Protesting is certianly legal in Texas, take a trip to Austin and see for yourself...
I believe the issue is that they are on private property, and causing a disturbance...
I heard that the local residents wanted them removed, not that they were already. FWIW

did anyone see The Daily Show? I laughed so hard laying in bed last night.....
They were poking fun at how GW said, "my life must go on". Interesting thing to say, they were like, "My life must go on, regardless of your dead son".
Looks like Washington is FINALLY admitting that they must lower their final expectations of what Iraq can and will ultimaltely become. As many predicted, I for one believe that we will be pulling out of that counrty leaving it WORSE than it was, to the tune of BILLIONS when we can afford it least and thousands of our young. Repots are that when we leave women will have virtually NO rights, and it will be a "Religous" state where the minority actually rules. Congrats on "spreading democracy", GW
Go ahead, tell me how stupid my opinoins are............................

Geico, can you start a thread educating us about C.L.U.E and how it works (against us)?
Sorry herb, I can't play anymore..............
Her son made a choice to join as far as I know.
She is choosing to disrespect that choice by calling foul b/c she doesn't agree with the war. There are two different issues in my eyes. Maybe she should be mad at her son and not the government.
We can empathizes with a parent losing their child but she has become extreme in the fact that she believes the president is directly at fault for her son's death. She's unrealistic and is using her son's death in a poor manner.
I see an upset mother trying to do something about the war but unfortunately she's mocking her son's service and choice, pain and grief drive her not necessarily logic and wisdom. Sad but doesn't she know death comes to everyone. Maybe I should be mad too! I had people die and dang it I need to blame someone.

I guess to you 9-11 doesn't fit the same scenario.
Even if you don't believe Iraq had anything to do with terrorism, it sure go the attention of the muslim world when we went in there. When we leave, a certain amount of will revert back to the old ways, but not all.
Remember, only four of the something like seventeen provinces are where the problems are. I heard on the radio today that 31 new schools had opened recently and more people had more water service the ever. Also, they're on the cell phone binge right now.......most Iraqis are welcoming the 21st century! Do you know why you don't hear much about the good things? It's because most of the news people hang around the Green Zone and take in the scuttle-butt instead of going to the areas that are progressing. Typical news reporting.
Talk to people that have been there as I have, don't just listen to the ones trying to get the biggest headline.
My nephew is a Marine over there right now, and is into some pretty thick stuff. Would I want to see him die over there? NO! Would I be proud of him? YES! Would I blame the President or the recruiter or anyone in between? NO! But, I would be darn proud of him as I am about his Dad who just spent a year over there.
My heart goes out to the woman, but, like it was said.....HE volunteered to go, and I'm proud of his service and bravery.
I know my opinion will not change some minds and mine will not be changed either, so a response is not necessary.

If you heard the neighbor's complete speech after the secret service paid him a visit (about gunshots) you heard the closest neighbor to the Bush's complain that is was bad 4 weeks ago. He said another convoy joined Ms. Sheehan to show their support last week and then the county dropped off an additional port-a-potty and now he couldn't drive out his driveway without driving thru the line to the port-a-poddy. He said he supported free speech and all, but this was getting old. Who, he said, could stand 5 or 6 weeks of their in-laws? Any company that stayed this long begins to stink after a while. They asked him what he said to the secret service people and he said, I said it was my land, my trees and my birds (something to that effect) and he was getting ready for Dove(?) season.
When he finished his tyrade, one of the news people asked him for his name and he said, "It's on the mailbox." and walked back to his house.
Clearly someone was gonna get hurt if the authorities didn't do something.

P.J,
What is it you are looking for? You WANT your country to loose the war just to say; "I told you so!" You wish we leave before the job is done so you can say we lost the war? You HOPE the US looses to justifly your treasonous position? You WANT more young men to die just so you can keep counting and attempt to embarrass the President? Be carefull for what you wish for P.J. What happens if your wishes come true?
The war is going fine. 2 1/2 years later there are no more casualties per month than when we started. There have been free elections for the first time, a democratic consitution is being written as I type. We have shrunk US forces there by 10,000 men. Most importantly, we have shown the world that if you do not obey the rules of a UN sponsered cease fire (Gulf War #1) we WILL invade your country and topple your government.
Unlike you I believe we will look back on this time and say this was one of the defining moments in American history. We took a part of the world that was a growing threat, defeated it, and started a DEMOCRACY right in the middle of the Muslum world. Not bad for the future security of our country. Governments from here forward will think twice about ignoring UN Security Counsel demands. Democracy will spread to the likes of Iran, Siria, Jordan, ETC. stabilizing the entire region. This may take 20 years, may go on forever. Progress is slow after 2,500 years of muslum rule. We as American want INSTANT results. Ain't gonna happen.
No one said this war would be quick or easy.
