CQ CQ CQ calling all hams
Just want to see how many amateur radio operators we have here on DTR. I received my General class ticket earlier this month. I don't have a radio (yet). I am also learning Morse code.
At work I have access to our club station (W1CGA) and the equipment. I can operate the UHF and VHF sets and also the HF set we have. The HF set we have connected to a tribander dipole set at 20, 40 and 80 meters. I would like to QSO with any DTR members.
BTW my call sign is K5DTR

Vanity call sign. My original was KE5QYK. I found out K5DTR was available, so I applied for it and got it.

K4SM here. Licensed for about 10 years now. Got the truck set up but don't have any antennas at the house currently (thunderstorms and hurricanes took them all down and haven't got them back up yet).

I took my test on 10/27 and my Technician ticket was issued yesterday (10/30). I bought a Yaesu VX-6R handheld along with a Comet SBB-5 antenna and a Diamond K412C antenna mount. Yeah, I know, the antenna is only a 2m/440 antenna, but with my handheld only putting out 1.5w on 220, the HRO salesman said it will certainly be better than the rubber duck antenna, and I get higher gains on the 2m & 440 then I would with the tri-band antenna.
KE7PMY - I'm moving to Mountain Green in less than two weeks, so I put my wife's grandmother's address on the application so that I could get a "7" instead of the "6". Nobody would want to talk to me if I mentioned a "6" in my callsign.

Been a licensed ham since 1968 and have my Canadian advanced license. Most of the time hang out on 20m but at the moment have put my rig in storage. Done lots of HF mobile work and had a ball on DX while driving. Only have about 70 countries confirmed while mobile.
Been a VE1, VE3 and a VE7. Currently use VE3AH
