I see more people using flashlights from the back of the bill to look for the burried stripe in the bills than using the pens.....

I do not beleive it is illegal to pass a fake bill. ==UNKNOWINGLY==

A big difference between knowingly. I'd bet theat most of us here have passed or will pass a fake bill at least once in our lifetime. The cops job should have been to take a report from all parties involved, and then decide if he had grounds to make an arrest. The fact that you walked away meant he had no reason to arrest you. His particular method may have been questionable. The next step is for the case to be turned over to an investigator, who is probably in the process of getting the bill examined like the others person talked about, and based on that report, detirmine if you were knowingly passing it or if it was just a bad bill in circulation, which is what I would bet be the outcome of all of this. If the investigator thinks theres more to it, the case will be handed over for a grand jury to sepina you and basically interview you and all the witnesses and evidence to decide if there is enough evidence to proceed. (indictment) Even up to this point, you are still considered innocent. If it gets that far, it will be presented to a judge to decide if a warrant needs to be issued or if a court case will simply be scheduled. Then, that will be the day you become guilty or remain innocent.

My advice would be to remember that thousands of people have fake currency right now and there is mountains of it in circulation, and this sets a presidence. If you get charged for unknowingly passing a bill that happens to enter then leave your pocket, then the whole rest of the world will have to be arrested and put into jail because I promise you, we've all had one go thru our hands without knowing it.

Yes but is this not a federal issue and would be handled by a federal judge? Not sure the locals even have any jurisdiction here.

There is some hope in cops.....

My friend got pulled over today while playing with his juice/attitude.....

the cop just told him that even He, the cop himself, gets tickets...its just part of life basically. nice cop...but still wrote ticket for 61 in a 45...which is understandable.

The justice system/cops are pretty messed up sometimes....

an officer on his way home from a neighboring town pulled me over and called me an EDIT. He wasn't in his jurisdiction and was speeding riding my bumper on a small road.....it was dark out so i couldn't tell anything but it was a motorcycle....well he just happened to taste some crazy larry smoke.....and he pulled me over and called me an EDIT and then sped off!

Contact the District Attorney's office and ask for the status of your case.
If anything was going to stick, they would have mailed you a notice of "the people are ready for trial". and yes! the secret service HAS to be involved. Call the nearest big city for that and ask to speak to the agent who investigated this at the ____ police Dept. on _____ whatever date and time.

YOU CAN (DTR member gary too) have your arrest record expunged through County Court. you will have to have an attorney for this. Seven reasons to get this accomplished, but my state (New York ) might be different from yours......

Law enforcement does attract a certain ego type BUT every officer
deserves respect in your attitude and answers. keep it to one word answers and laugh about them later with your friends.

Good Luck to you and lessons learned to us all.......
Please try to enjoy your Holiday season with good friends, family and no hard feelings.......

You smoked a cop!

I did a little drift around a corner and then there was a cop with his lights off on the side of the road. Maybe he was sleeping or his view of me was blocked from there or something. This was last night.

It wasn't here...it was my hometown. I didn't know it was a cop anyway...and he was speeding and riding my butt BAD anyway.

I know the cops in my town. they know me. it wouldn't be a problem. (did i mention grandpa was mayor? good ol justice systems )

Back to the topic of justice system/counterfeit..........

yea, a while ago a friend of mine actually got a ticket from a cop who was off duty, in a regular car, and didn't even have his suit on (I think). My friend thought some crazy gut was chasing him, but the cop eventually pulled up next to him yelling. Then he took his info on some paper, went to the high a couple days later, pulled him out of class, and gave him a ticket! I think my friend was just speeding a little bit in a 35 or something.
