"The Cooler" OCT 3rd - OCT 9th

Morning all, 'nuther week, 'nuther cooler (a bit late).
Where is Shovelhead, still dreaming about vacation? JKE, you out dove hunting?
Finally getting some rain today (and lots of it), could use it.
Went camping and canoeing this weekend about 1 1/2 hours east of Dallas. The lake was 9 feet low Most of the boat ramps were closed, the docks were high and dry.

Putting the on both burners, ready in a few.

Ahhhhhhhhhh!! Thanks, I needed that.

Monday.
G-G in the lot.
Trying to save that precious $2.00 a gal diesel fuel.

Almost took a hit from an inpatient moron in a Porsche on the way to work.
Wishing I was in The Beast.
Outcome might have been a little more in my favor.

Riding in DC is not for the squeamish.

Be safe.

howdy fellers. uhhh dove hunt was...well....errrr...not good. shot 7 times. knocked one down. lost it in the woods. pop shot 3 and lost one in the woods. had the 100yard club set up right next to me. I saw them boys shoot at birds atleast 50 yards away . they would blast away and I would look around wondering what they were shooting at . in my defense, I was forced to take longer shots since these guys wouldn't even let the birds into the field to work . You are allowed 50 shells on the field. These guys shot so much that I thought surely they would run out of ammo . 3 of them standing side by side blasting away...kinda funny. They never hit a bird. The one I did hit was 35-40 yds out 1 1/8 oz of 7 1/2 and just flew through their blast oramma...lucky I have to say, but looked good. I hate that I couldn't find it. - JKE

Sounds like they were graduates of the "If It Flies, It Dies" school of dove hunting.

WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not eat Thai peppers and touch "Bubba parts".
IT IS UNCOMFORTABLE.
On a serious note tho. Monday, I'm getting the shooting eye worked on. Doc is doing a lens replacement. Three months later, the other eye gets worked over. I don't normally worry about surgery, but when eyeballs and the Bubba ones are concerned, I tend to think about it a bit more.
It's supposed to be a routine procedure, BUT I also am well aware of what routine can be in this "green mother".
Also need help to move a grand piano into the house. Wife surprised me with that today. Paid cash too. Her rathole must be bigger than mine.
Need some combat rifle shooters. My team is headed to Iraq.
Was on the range teaching (and shooting) this weekend. M-16, M-9, M249, M203, Ma Deuce, and the Mk. 19. Lots and lots of ammo, ball and HEDP. Run about 400 troops thru. Feet hurt and gotta sunburn.
Worked a wreck coming home yesterday. Lots of sheetmetal broke, bodies were ok.
Flat at 0500 this morning.
Home now, belly full, bored stiff. Going to bed.

Mornin' all.
Cooler day here as well, almost fall like in the morning. This is that 1-2 weeks a year where we don't need to run the air conditioner or turn on the furnace.
Robbed a bank and bought a Starbucks on the way in this morning, now I have to eat beans and weanies for the rest of the week.
Can't wait til Thursday, it will be my Friday. Going home, flying in to Pittsburgh and driving the rest from there. Anyone know if they rent CTD's at Pittsburgh Int'l? How are the fall colors up there in PA? They started changing yet? I understand it has been pretty wet and the reports say the leaves won't be as colorful as usual. Oh well, at least there are leaves and trees up there.

Stay safe

What a week this is turning into.... weaning two fillies and they decided to kick down their pen around 4 this morning....
Been out fixing fence since daylight...going through second pot of coffee now...

At least the weather is gorgeous now... lows in the 50's and highs in the 70's... gotta love it!
Scotty, that is too much..... I'm afraid of what body parts would fall off if I tried something like that......OUCH!

Morning all, got a nasty headache early this morning and can't sleep, so here I am.
Had to call the police the other day, so the officer comes and parks the cruiser in front of the house while we talk to him in the driveway. Naturally this is when ALL of the neighbors (even ones we don't see a lot) drive by on their way home from work. Just seems kind of funny, don't see people for a while and then when the police show up outside your door, everyone is around.
The wife had her identity stolen. Someone applied for credit in her name, with our old and current address and her SSN. Luckily, the fraud department of Bank of America caught it and called to verify with her she tried to get a charge account. They told her to report it to the local authorities, hence the officer in front of the house. What a mess, I think hanging out to be brought back for these types of crimes (or give me a few minutes in a room alone with them).
