WOW!
What a difference a day makes.
Temps in the upper 30's this AM.
G-G still in the 'ToyBox'
Beast in the lot.

seems stronger this morning
Might be time to scrape the 1/2" of sediment out of the bottom of the pot.

Nuttin' like a flashing blue light to bring out the masses.

Y'all be safe.

Got my moms truck back from the shop last night.
They drained our a quart of water from the oil pan and showed my mother all the metal shavings and bearing parts that came out with the oil .
It seems that the intake has cracked and is filling the valley pan with anti-freeze.

She leaves tomorrow for a 450 mile trip through the middle of the desert. I had the shop fill it with a little thicker oil and some Barrs Stop Leak.

I told her, if she makes it home, get the oil changed again and trade it in immediately!

Hmmmph... "Built like a rock"
Anyway... hope you all have a great day.

Rich

Morning Smellers,
Back from vacation this week. Went to da U.P. eh. Met up with Upersledder and had a good time. Very hospitable, and Chris needed some non-adults to hang with a bit. Very nice family and I can tell a couple of good girls. Continued north to copper harbor area and along the north coast.

Finally got Kaley out over the weekend for some birds. First day saw a few, but had some bugs to work out. Day 2 we went 1 and 1 for woodcocks. Gonna take her out again later this week.

Shortround, what Division are you guys in. My old unit up here is heading out too. My cousin in Indiana is going. Use to be a cannon-cocker, but got out for awhile. When he went back, luckily he got into survey. It's all part of 38th I.D. which was converted to Mech a few years ago. Give bubba a pat on the head, he'll be alright.

Red,
Our guys are in the 39th Infantry Brigade (Sep Enhanced). They are operating out of Taji (Camp Cook) and are attached to 1st Cav.
These new MTOE changes are going to be interesting. New consept of operations. Will make the units self sufficient down to the battalion level. Interesting that the army is doing what the Marines did 20 years ago.

Naaah, the Army's more elite Armor units in Germany were that way a long time a go. Instead of battalions, they called them squadrons. The Armored Cav over there, has always been set up for rapid deployment and to be self sufficient for a bit to make for a formidable speed bump against the Russians. Every squadron had it's own dedicated artillary, engineers, etc. Then more dedicated at Regiment (brigade) level.

Chilly again today, but warmer than yesterday.

G-G in the lot again.

What's up with folks lately?
Again this AM, a Moron cuts me off, almost running me into a jersey wall (cuz he's in the wrong lane to take his exit) then procededs to show me the "You're number 1 sign" as he goes by.
Might be time to start carrying the truck lugnuts in my pockets again.

Oh well, safe in my chair, Sipppin' coffee, Surfin'......it's don't get much better than this.

Be Safe
Watch out for a 'slightly' overfed biker-lookin guy on a Geezer-Glide.
Might be me.

See you'ins in few days. It's now 4 am and I have to go wake the wife up She is not a happy camper this early.

Hmmm, I just aquired a couple of VCR's.
(replaced both with DVD/VCR combos for Mom and Sister)

Maybe I'll have my own recycling event tomorrow.

Gotta check my ammo stockpile first though.

Gonna be out of pocket for a while, so don't think I'm all po'ed at ya.
Going under the knife Monday morning to have a lens replacement done on my left eye. The vision has gotten so bad I can't see the front sights on my shooting irons, so I had to switch to a short barrel shotgun.
Not expecting any complications but if you get a chance, throw in an extra "look after the old phart" next time you speak to Sky Six.
Be back when I can.
