Computer Problem...
I'm usually pretty good with this mess, but this one has me stumped.
I have DSl through SBC, and use Thunderbird for my mail client. Norton 06 (I know some don't like it, but it has worked well for me.)
For the past few days I open Thunderbird, it connects, says "downloading 1 of _ new messages" And the icon in the system tray for the Symantec Email Scanner fires up. But it never finishes downloading the message. Thunderbird usually crashes, the scanner keeps running... I let it sit to download for 5-10 minutes earlier. Usually my messages download in less than a minute. I can read my mail online (VERY annoying) I have reinstalled Thunderbird (I had 1.0.6, updated to 1.5) And deleted/reinstalled Norton.
Really confusing part is if my wife's email is working fine. Different Windows user account but the same Thunderbird/SBC setup I have.
Any suggestions how I might be able to get this working again?
Thanks.

Found the problem...
One of my wife's friends had emaled me some pictures... 150 of them. That message took FOREVER to scan and then download. Gonna have to explain to her maybe break them up into batches neat time... It was just backing up on that one message.

that would definately cause the slow down. I work for a computer consulting firm and that is usually one of the things we'll have a customer do if the computer starts acting up.
