Chrysler Sebring problems

Approx 2-3 months I had to replace my battery in my work Sebring. It has been driving great since. Anyway, I am now selling it. Well it is out of inspection and emissions. Had a guy interested and he took it to his mechaninc to check it out. Everything checked out good but a couple things. The mechaninc put it on the machine to check the emissions and said that the ECM is not totally rebooted. Like I said it has been at least 3 thousand miles since I replaced it. The check engine light is not on nor has it ever been on. Can anyone tell me about this or have any ideas.

I am assuming you are in a state that uses readiness status for OBDII inspection. In this process the inspection machine gets plugged into the OBDII port and then checks the readiness status of the ECM. This includes EGR, O2 Sensor, HO2Sensor, Evaporative emissions as well as catalyst. Sometimes it takes one of these cars very long to get readiness up. The one that is probably not ready is Evap Emissions. Fill up the fuel tank all the way and drive it until the fuel gauge is below 3/4 it should do its evap tests around 3/4 of a tank then after that all the others should set. By the way, what year is this because some of the cars are problems with the emissions machines and they need to be "bypassed"

It is a 2004. It does have a small exhaust leak that I just found out about. Would that be a problem?

Ok this is not a OBD2 exempt vehicle. The small exhaust leak may be causing EGR issues, however it is not likely. Do you know which readiness monitors are not set because this can narrow down what we need to do
