That would be the sadist day of my life, then everyone will really think Ford owns Cummins.

Bankruptcy probably isnt half bad. The people Ive personally seen that file; a month later theres 2 or 3 brand new SUVs/trucks/cars sittin in the driveway, a HUGE big screen TV going throught the door, and brand new furniture going in as well...

Mocho I will say that the Dodge truck is here to stay. If you like ford why not by one. They can not keep with Dodge. They had a good diesel! Then they thought they could build a better one witch they could not. All that was needed was a turbo on it International Was a very good eng.

strokeThis, funny you should say that about the bankrupt thing. Had a friend that went bankrupt and from my view it never slowed them down. He gave back the truck he had at the time and low and behold within a year had another one.

Good point . Chrysler is not a corporation . It's a LLC privately owned by Cerebus . Why should Cerebus get a bailout ? Cerebus has other investments that cover the Chrysler losses . Cerebus will eventually sell Chrysler and break it up if they can . They tried to sell Jeep to Hyundai and others but no one wanted it .

Were did I say I like Ford better? If Ford cannot keep with Dodge why do they sell around double the trucks that Dodge does? The Dodge Diesel is the best truck on the market, BECAUSE of whats under the hood, I don't understand why they don't sell the most. I can tell you right now if it wasn't for the Cummins under the hood they would barely sell any. As far as the Dodge truck staying, I don't know the emmissions screwed over all diesels and the Cummins isn't shining like it use to, they better get some new things that the others don't have or they will be in trouble. Ford won't go bankrupt, Chrysler is a VERY strong possibility even though they will get a bailout now, they aren't making any money so unless they turn it around they WILL be bankrupt and someone WILL have the Cummins under the hood.

There are plenty of trucks with Cummins under the hood . The PACCAR diesels the the Medium Duty KW and Peterbilt trucks are made by Cummins . Why would any engine manufacturer want to deal with Ford after Ford screwed up the Navistar 6.0 and started a legal battle . The defects in Ford's 6.0 were the result of software changes Ford made . Ford sells double the trucks because there are many ignorant buyers . Ford barely outperforms Dodge in road tests by magazines . Chevy beats them in heavier pickups and Toyota is rated highest in 1/2 ton .
Dodge trucks won't be around long . Cerebus will eventually sell Chrysler , most likely breaking it up . Nissan may take over Dodge truck plants because they contracted with Chrysler for a version of the Ram to replace the Titan . If GM buys Chrysler they won't produce Dodge trucks .

There will be ALOT more cummins powered medium & heavy trucks on the road after 2010, Since CAT is dropping out of the truck engine biz.

Agree with the ignorant ford buyers reasoning as to why ford out sales dodge. Know several people personally that had bum 6.0's that went right back & bought newer 6.0's after all the problems they ran into. One person even bought another after ford bought his 03 back from him will less than 20k on the clock. I don't get it, "stick your hand in a fire once & you know it's hot, why do it again" Some people are just way too brand loyal. I would rather buy my opinon of the best on the market than stick with a brand. I would not own a dodge if not for the cummins & the straight axle under the front.

I only wish GM would put a cummins in front of the allison.

Contracts...another reason why Ford sells so many trucks. Government entities buy a lot of Fords. Big oil companies buy Fords. They dont care. They have money to burn, so buying junk doesnt faze them...

You lock down contracts, and you WILL sell trucks. Says so in black and white

Unhappy

I hope none of the big three has to file chapter 11 because of what that will do to all the retirees out there If they do they will turn all the pensions over to pension insurance corp. People will lose a lot of income and all their insurance it better if they make the hard cuts they need to and stay afloat
