Child seats in 02 or older QC.

I realize the 02 and older QC models are a bit smaller than the 03 an newer, but how do child safety seats fit in the 02 and older models. I just want to find out if there is enough room for the kids legs behind both the driver and passenger seats. I'm only 5'10", so I don't need the seat to be waaay back, but want the kids to have plenty of room for their legs. We have a 3 year old girl and a 1 1/2 year old boy. BTW, I must be doing something right, my little girl keeps telling me to get a diesel, a purple one. At least the diesel part is ok. Thanks for any info you can shed on this subject.

It is pretty tight. The baby which is rear facing is in the middle and with the console down it fits just fine. However my wife does have to scoot her chair forward for the 2 year old to have some foot room. It works but is a little tight. I was considering going to an '03 partly for the extra room but it isn't that much, 3 inches I believe. If the extra cab was like Chevy or Ford, I think I would definitely make the move but probably not for 3 inches.

I believe there is plenty of room in the QC for children in the back. I have 2 girls - a 5 yr old and a 7 month old. Car seat goes in the middle and my 5 yr old sits beside her on the passenger side. My wife is about 5'9 and she rides in front passenger seat usually.

If it helps....I have the 03 and with a rear facing seat I still have to put it in the middle. The only way to put it on either side is to slide the seat WAY forward. Forward facing seats shouldn't be a problem though.

Thanks for the quick replies. Both kids are forward facing so one on each side is the way I'd go. I was just a little leary of the leg room behind the seats. Keep the information coming. Thanks again.
